The post i got those pics from says there is a handles that gives no signs of struggle with 50+ lbs in the bags.

I just test fit the four 245/40/17 Hoosiers with a jack and there was a bit of room leftover, but a trailer would definitely be nice.

I've used the ikea bags before, i think they are 25.5x25.5x9, but seem a little larger than that. They are strong enough and cheap, I bought 8 of them last time I was there. They are also good for storing stuff in paddock as well since the are mostly waterproof and easy to pack.

How did you load them??? were they mostly in the backseat, with all the other stuff in the trunk???

Wondering if Tire Tail will come out w/ one for the car (if they're still around).

One of the many advantages of an ST car is no more trailering my car to events for now!

I'd like to be able to tow a kart on a trailer....not so heavy but no way that thing's fitting in my hatch.

Any clue how a trailer hitch for a small trailer woukd mount to our cars? Bolt on possible or would we have to get a braket welded up?

A bolted hitch is definitely an option. I've been thinking of how I want to do it this past week. Will be pulling the bumper off today and taking some measurements. I'll have some cad to post later tonight

Hopefully I don't get banned for aiding in the design of "illegal substances" lol

Anyways, here is what I came up with. The receiver could either replace the crash beam or sandwich between that and the chassis. Would be completely invisible when not towing and would be completely reversible. This is very similar to the flyin miata design.

I'll be making myself one and if you guys are interested in doing the same I'd be willing to supply the CAD drawings.

Isometric view:

Would be bolted in at this flange:

Very interesting... Curious to see how it turns out.

Also, I'm wondering if a Tire Tail from a Miata will work on our cars?

Looking for a way to not have to get my truck & trailer out, when a simpler solution may exist.

Interesting. How would the ball mount to that? Looks like the center is pointed at the floor.
Poking a hole in the center triangle thingy would be a plus

Wow, that looks great. How much tongue weight do you think something like that will handle? I'd use it with a [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012SBVSY/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1"]Yakima DoubleDown rack[/ame] plus 2 or 3 bikes on (only around 100-130 pounds, so probably not an issue).

As far as safety goes, I'm assuming it'd be fine to sandwich it between the chassis and crash beam, but any concerns over removing the crash beam? (that sounds iffy)

A couple days ago I saw a pic floating around of the silver FR-S @FT-86 SpeedFactory One Lap of America build with a fabbed up hitch on the back of it holding up a couple tires.

I can't find it now, of course.

EDIT: Found it
