I would NOT buy the BRZ. Too rounded and the interior not to my liking. I thought the FRS was MUCH nicer and I wish they just made it exactly like the GT86 in the rest of the world.
Nezz, you know for a fact? Researched it? Or did you just hear that somewhere? |

This guy has quick comparison comments the BRZ vs. the 86 (which is closer to the FR-S than the BRZ) at the 3:20 mark:

I don't care which company did what or which badges are on it. The most important things to me are that it doesn't fall apart and it makes me happy when I'm in it.

Besides the headlights, there is nothing more the BR-Z can offer me over the FR-S that I would care about in it's current stage where both are mechanically near-identical.

I like both equally. But what I cannot stand are the chrome FR-S headlights. Those are just unforgivable. So BRZ for me.

This is such a dumb thread.....I'm sorry, they are "twins." Emblems or not, they are pretty much the EXACT same car. Sorry to those subaru guys who don't like hearing that. This thread should be locked already. The whining is getting annoying. |

Let it go. The cars are fine the way they are.

Subaru did the mechanical aspect of the cars, Toyota did the styling. One company did not do it all so no one company can take full credit.

Tetsuya Tada; Project leader for the car-- Go hunting through a bunch of his stuff and find where he met resistance. He got backup a lot of the time from-- Akio Toyoda: Family heir to the Toyota crown, avid racer and enthusiast about cars like ours. As for technology and how/why the cars are built where; well, that much is evident to the point where it doesn't take much research. Go take a peek! Car Graphic is a good place to start. There's translated articles floating around. Not to mention the fact the platform this car sits on isn't really bespoke (it's certainly unique, but not 100% bespoke, it's clearly Subaru in basic design, even if it wasn't entirely engineered by them). I bought the Toyota because it was what was accessible first and I don't like the BRZ dashboard. That's more or less it.
