Project Mu 999 (race pad) special order *update 4/2/13

We've been working directly with Project Mu regarding pad applications for the FR-S/BRZ (as well as some other platforms), and the decision was made to import a custom run of the 999. If you've tried the Club Racer or HC+800 on track, think of these as being similar, but better. The best comparison I can make is a 12 year old scotch vs a 18 year old scotch (but without the massive price differential).

We're still working out final pricing, and there is some fluctuation due to constantly exchange rates, but we'll be placing an order shortly. Is anyone here interested in trying the pad?

As with any brake pad, it's difficult to quantify the pad itself with just numbers, but specs are available here: http://project-mu.co.jp/en/products/pad_999.html

This is not a pad that is typically imported into North America, and the pads is being specifically constructed at our request. Please send @CounterSpace Garage a PM if you're interested. Full advance payment will be required, and we expect a lead time of 3 months (could vary).

I've been pushing CSG to get these pads, as I consider them the gold standard on my s2k, and the CSG BRZ will be transitioning to these pads as soon as our set arrives.

***edit***

We will be placing our next order this Friday. MSRP for the FR-S/BRZ is as follows:

BRZ/FR-S Front: $300
BRZ/FR-S Rear: $300
AP CP8350 D41: $349

Lead time is approximately 2-3 months.

PM me directly for pricing, not the CounterSpace Garage account. I am personally handling this order, as I am the one that pushed for this to happen. Payment in full up front will be required for this order. *CSG will be stocking an extremely limited supply of these pads.

***Edit 2***

I got a few PMs asking. This is a RACE pad. Please do not purchase these unless you intend on using these at the track. (I will be using my sets street driving... but I track and canyon a lot). You will NOT be happy with these if you are only going to be street driving. Expect elevated levels of brake dust. Additionally, expect noise until the pads are fully bedded.

***edit***

OMG pads.

Any idea on general price range for both OEM shape and the shape we'll need?

Yes.

D50 is for the enduro setup. The calipers are the same, but the rotor diameter is different, so the pad shape is slightly different.

Crazy how big the GTR caliper is when you already know how big the CP8350 pad is....

Stopping from 160+MPH is hard work, it looks massive. I am sure it's over sized from some additional head room?

The GTR is heavy... but it's not oversized at all. In fact, I'd like to see more brake on the GTR...

I am shocked that car does not have some satellite controled laser brakes activated by a super computers to stop.

I might even have some of these for the CP8350 in a box
