Gas station that are ethanol free
Hey guys I found this list i think you might want to check out.
Not sure on how accurate or up-to-date it is but its worth checking out. The list shows gas stations by State then by City that have ethanol free gas. AND it also lists the Octanes incase youre trying to find that 93 octane as recommended by the manufacturer. Also has stations for all you Canadians out there!! Here you go enjoy! http://pure-gas.org/index.jsp?stateprov=TX Last edited by norsamerican; 02-21-2013 at 04:59 PM. |

Very good list. Looks accurate too. Went to mine this morning. Standard premium is 3.46 a gallon. The ethenol-free is 3.75. 91 octane. I saved your list to my favorites.

I was very excited to see RI on that list then realized the only station listed was Hess and they don't even see ethanol free gas.

Noob question here. What effect does the ethanol have of the quality of the gas?

It's an octane booster. Dry Ethanol is 113 AKI octane and it's cheaper than Toluene. It has a lower energy density so you lose a bit of MPG but it's cheaper so it's usually a wash.

Awesome, a grand total of 4 stations in NJ. Ethanol it is, then.

So basically it artificially "boosts" the octane rating while decreasing the fuel efficiency?

It's no more artificial than adding anything else to gasoline - there's a whole lot of stuff in gasoline other than heptane and octane. |

I just put 93 Octane Ethanol free gas in my FR-S and the crickets went away almost immediately. For reference, my car was almost empty when I added fuel.
