I have worked in simulation for the last ten years. If you looked at simulation as nothing but a talent detector, it would be an incredibly powerful tool. Obviously it is capable of quite a bit more than that though.

A lot of it might be practice too. A few weeks ago I was in a competition for simraceway where the winner gets to go to Sonoma raceway for 2 days and race an evo x around the track. The final results have not yet been posted but when the competition ended I was within .050 milliseconds of winning. Second place. Wasn't very happy
