Oh yeah, I forgot that's an option. But I need to go dl the BRZ for Horizon instead.

And i want one bad. Around 6k for a newish one with around 50-75,000 miles. Bare bones and awesome. Manual windows, manual locks, no SC, no TC, awesome.
My dad had one, it was the car I learned how to drive manual on real roads in. Steering kind of sucked and the car felt pretty numb but for what it was it was an awesome little car.

Numb, huh? I bet with a stiffened rear suspension, stiffer damping all around and wheels and some good rubber if it would liven it right up.

Oh, i've got big plans for it when i get it.

The two biggest things it needed where more responsive steering and lower profile tires...It's honestly a great platform stock. ANd you can't beat that people can actually fit in the back! Here's what I'd do:
  • turbo kit (or just well designed intake, depends on budget)
  • change all bushings to poly or metal
  • lightweight 17" wheels with low profile tires
  • exhaust (headers and full exhaust, think buddy club spec II for the FRS)
  • tune
  • short throw shifter
  • better clutch
  • higher rate springs/shocks
  • Lower it about 2" (it rides really high)
  • lighten it
  • sway bars front and rear
  • strut tower braces front and rear
  • Oh and you'll want a different steering wheel...my dad had the cheapest model (didn't have AC or a radio) and the steering wheel felt like it was made from rubberized tupperware.
At least from my experience with the car.

There's a thread for that...

I'd likely do the same-- only probably not the $3,500 turbo. It is nice that people can fit in the back, but i'd gut the car from the backseat back. [Even though it would be my DD.] Also, i wouldn't be going 17'' on the rims, i'd go with these 15x7 949 Racing Miata wheels. [11lbs, $129ea] But i'm with ya on all the suspension mods. Your picture of yours looks very nice.

Actually that was just a random pic lol...my dad's was a boring black base model. I loved driving it though. Those wheels would look awesome. Oh, and they get like an average of 42 mpg, especially without A/C. Can't beat that.

Oh i know-- i so want those wheels for my Celica, but they only come in 4x100. My friend with a Cobalt is going to buy them, then i'll be boiling with envy every time he comes over.

I didn't know they got that good of mileage. I would expect that after some weight reduction and a couple upgrades, it'll be even higher. Then i would have two vehicles that get over 45mpg without hybrid assist.

@WingsofWar, I hope not-- that car looks quite large.
