It's the same as, say, adding a boost controller and running the car at 8psi - the base map isn't designed for that.
I am assuming this is a reply to MNSAYER with his mods and not to all of us rather stock people.

Buy a boost gauge, you'll know.

Anyone turbocharging the car and not buying a boost gauge is a total idiot to be honest.

^^ Exactly!!! Also, applies to people that want to change stuff and keep the base map.

Turbo car tuning is very sensitive. Any chances will affect the tuning. You plan on changing several components, you have to know off the bat the base map will not work, not on this kit or any other kit. It will need a new tune.

Which is why I'll probably install the kit with a boost gauge, injectors, pump, and a boost controller, and the only drive it will make will be RIGHT TO THE DYNO from my house, for a tune. And you can bet even on that 25-35 minute drive, it will never see boost.

(car will already have a full exhaust by then also)

So is the standard map designed to work with 100% stock exhaust or cat back as I currently have no exhaust fitted and I want to know if I need to put a cheap mild steel one on til the one I want is back in stock.

I think the best explanation is this - it's designed to work with the standard cross-over pipe and the standard secondary catalytic converter in place. The base map can compensate for having either muffler upgrade or cat-back after that point.

Thats what I wanted to know as you were saying ANY modifications are going to change the base map. I wanted to know if it was tuned with a cat back or stock system and you have answered that thanks.

How would it be a statement? I know I didnt use a question mark but yeah it was pretty obvious it was a question.

My bad for making general statements. I more specifically mean for example, replacing the stock intake box for a different higher flow one.

Changing cat back or etc on turbo car

FYI:

changing anything after the dump pipe will not have that much of a effect and won't need a retune. you won't see any increase in boost that is noteworthy enough to warrant changing boost control settings or etc. Changing cat back exhausts is about the only thing you can change on a turbo car without a retune.

In almost every case changing the air intake from what the car was tuned on to a different one would need a retune because the metered air is now incorrect and the AFR's would be off and you need to rescale the MAF in the ecu.

@AVOturboworld

Is the "Turbocharger to Secondary cat engine pipe" (Dump Pipe) a split or bellmouth opening going back? AFAIK its a 2.5" diameter but is there any plans for a factory option for bellmouth w/ a 3" outlet for 3" frontpipe and midpipes?

Another question for people turbo savvy then myself, would this setup benefit from a bellmouth dump pipe, or would it not make much difference for a turbo of this size? (Considering that it may need to be custom fabricated to mate up to a 3" front pipe, and a tapered 3->2.5" midpipe). How much of an impact would the larger diameter have on EGT?

My fairly uneducated idea is that having a bellmouth dump pipe should increase laminar airflow earlier in the pipe, and the larger diameter would give more surface area for heat dissipation. In turn the EGT should be lower combined with smoother airflow.. in turn increasing overall turbo performance. Also it is my understanding that the pipes closer to the turbo have the greatest impacts on power gains so tackling the dump pipe would be one of my top priorities after turbocharging... having the 3" exhaust gives extra flow and more heat dissipation (obv diminishing returns) i'd want to taper down to 2.5" to help muffle the sound a bit, plus i have a 2.5" nameless axleback already lol.

Tried searching and couldn't get any confirmation on this
