Basically I created this post to clarify both companies had part in this car. It's quite annoying when a Subaru fan-Toyota Hater (I'm a Subaru fan too) comes along and says, "It's a Subaru and not a Toyota" without any knowledge and history of the car. Rephrasing what others have said in this post, It's not to say Toyota is better or Subaru is better, bottom line, get whatever you like, debadge it to Scion FRS/Toyota GT86, just don't be snobby about it.
Like someone said, it's part of the same family, no part arguing (I'm guilty), be proud it's an awesome looking ride whether it's badged, Scion FR-S, Toyota GT86 or Subaru BRZ because it's the same car (just different trim) and all parties (Scion, Toyota, Subaru) needed this car whether it was to increase car sales, strengthen brand awareness/equity or add a new good looking RWR car to the car lineup, it was a great success. |

I'd like to point out that OP's language is heavily biased and favors (by giving extenive credit to) Toyota. Frankly, I don't give a damn. However, I get annoyed and like to point out when a person makes a logical argument that exhibits blatant bias.
Full disclosure: I bought a BRZ because I prefer the way it looks. I also prefer the Subaru brand to the Scion brand. Edit: I made this post after reading only the first page of comments. Looks like there was a significant amount of controversy in this thread already. Feel free to disregard this post. |

6.1 vs 6.2 it doesn't matter if it's by an inch or a mile winning is winning.

Basically if you get it at a Toyota dealership then it's a Toyota and if you get it at Subaru then it's a Subaru. End of story.

I believe there will be more and more differences with the twins once performance models come out. I think they want both to have a distinguished look, separated by TRD and STI.
I personally put STI parts on my BRZ, and I'm sure FR-S owners are leaning towards TRD parts over STI.

Just got to respect each other's ride that's all my saying. Some stupid punk at work was like "isn't that a Subaru?" No you idiot. Can't you see the Toyota sign? Like fucking do some research. When you have an iPhone or any apple product or most product do people say, "Isn't that a China product?" This stupid logic pisses me off. Facts people, FACTS! lol |

No, it's Scioyobaru. This thread is... Kinda pointless, it more or less comes in equal parts from both brands, and people that want to identify with one more then the other probably should have gotten something else.
Why not just all join together, mod our cars, and move on? Sent from your mom's room. |

In the end the BRZ/FRS are the same car, one just has better amenities. What can I say, I love led lights.
