The point isn't just 'overseas'. It's 'from countries that have shitty environmental and labour records, as well as a reputation of shining turds to sell when they aren't watched like a vigilant hawk by a company from a country that takes quality control seriously while fighting every trick by their devious partner to rip off their intellectual property and sell it out the back door.'

Heh...

Now a couple serious things.

One, if Invidia does a decent job of QC, Chinese-sourced stuff can be ok. It will never be great, or the best quality-wise, because sourcing decisions that fall to China are always cost-based. This cost-based decision usually means that design and innovation are also not priorities, since they add cost and can be risky. So if you end up with ok quality, ordinary design, (good enough) but low Chinese cost, it's pretty much a value win. Which is fine for a lot of people.

But if Invidia doesn't do its due diligence and crack the whip, there will often be cost-cutting measures that can range from annoying to dangerous (but less chance of danger with something like an exhaust). Typical bad oversight will be less rejection of finished parts, leading to the common scenario of fitment being perfect for one customer (part is to spec) but another customer is tearing out their hair in frustration (part should have been rejected or sent for rework, but that costs money that is hard to make up on the super low margins).

Ideally Invidia (or whatever Chinese-sourced Brand X) would be at the factory cherry-picking the ones that pass their own QC, and the ones that don't end up on Ebay.

Part two of my comment is 'quality' seems to mean a whole different thing to different people. Or some people are just trying to convince themselves that they made the right choice. But I've seen some utter shit on here with people singing the 'quality' song. Not going to name names, this time.

Now if the cheaper exhaust has great quality and cant go wrong with it, then thats a great buy!
also preference in sound is important.
i have a tanabe medalion touring on mine and i know the quality is superb. price might be higher but i liked their reputation.
Invidia has a nice exhaust too but its all under your perception on what you like under your budget.

here is my tanabe medalion

link of my install.

tanabe make great stuff. very high quality also. not sure where they are made, but like we all said...does it matter? it comes down to quality control after production. these big companies have quality control. i've never ever ever installed an invidia product that didn't exceed my expectations. same with a perrin product. one is US made....the other is asia made. both pwn n00bs.

Just style.

There's a big difference to me between products from japan, U.S., germany and products from china. Huge actually. Also learn to spell the word foreign if you're going to try to make an intelligent argument about the subject. Just my 2 cents.

Did you just lump China with JAPAN. That either means you have no idea what we are discussing or you have no idea the quality differences are across the board between these two countries as a whole.

Of course a lot of parts are made in Japan. China, not a whole lot of innovation and MUCH bigger country.

You'll be fine with Invidia's quality and fitment. I had one of their exhausts on my Evo X and absolutely loved it, I've heard some of their systems can be on the raspy side but for the most part I've only heard great things from anyone who's owned something from them.

for the bang for your buck.. invidia n1 plus catless front pipe lol

i do say that being that i have owned greddy, tanabe in the past... the higher overall quality does go to greddy (imo) but they do also ask for a much higher premium
