The bottle is the same as the other gray ones. The photo was just taken in less than ideal lighting. :happy0180:

Some are silver, some are white. I ordered 36 more this week and all were silver.
Most often, Pentosin's coolant still comes in white. All the MTF-2 gear oil I have sold in the past two years was silver bottles. I think it's going to be fine from any vendor. If anyone has issues with the web store, just let me know, I can send a invoice by PayPal. |

About 1,500-2,000 miles so far on the Torco MTF, didn't change too much since the first day, when cold (~40s) it's fine just a little notchy but zero issues actually going into any of the gears. Once it's slightly warm or better (a few minutes of driving or cold temps of the 70s or more) it's perfectly fine, actually loses a little of the mechanical feel I enjoy. I'm not sure I'd want to go much thinner, might lose all of that mechanical feel I'll try it for the next change though in 5k or so.

Will and I are going to be going with Extra-S at our next oil change. I'll probably do Motul 300 in the rear as well.

Flushed OEM 2 weeks ago to Pentosin MTF2 and it is night and day
since then, best mod for the money you can do on a BRZ/FR-S. Even with the coldest temperatures you can now do everything you hoped for, make the original oil feel like Crisco shortening.... |

I am changing to Pentosin in the gearbox and Motul for the differential in the next few days. Thanks gmookher for your posts, I am anxious to feel the results.
Update: Had Pentosin and Motul installed along with Invidia q300 catback yesterday. Shifting is definitely better, shifting through the gates are noticeably smoother. Still some notchiness from 1st to 2nd but improved. Looking to get more miles in to form a better opinion. As for the exhaust, I went with the Ti tips, I like it. For sound, very close to stock. I'm just confused. The owners manual specs a 75w-90 fluid, not a 75w-85 as mentioned. And the low end range for a 75w-90 fluid at temperature is ~13cst. The Pentosin is almost half that.
I realize the additive packs place a large role on how well it functions in the gear box, but given our gear box was designed to run quite thicker oil, I wonder how it fairs long term in hot/hard use, I feel the additives can only go so far to compensate for the lack of viscosity. Anyone have some UOA on the Pentosin in our cars? (I realize that it works well in BMW's and other cars, it's what I used on my 335i. But those were designed for this viscosity fluid, unlike the FT86) |

The owners manual also specs a fluid you can't get anywhere, even the dealer. The GL-3 is a spec no longer active, and the dealer can't get the factory oil. Try them. I just talked to my dealer, and they can't figure out how to get it. Funny. I put in the Pentosin a couple of weeks ago and it is definitely better. Very smooth.
