Damn that's pricey...

For anyone that thinks $25k for a 200hp car is expensive, here's a JDM 86 in Hokkaido for 2.8 million Yen, or ~$35,000

http://exchange.goo-net.com/usedcars...002/index.html

And it's got some ugly aftermarket NAV/head unit too.

Isn't the GT Limited Spec equivalent to the BRZ Limited model? (It's also white & Auto That automatically racks up a few grand more...)

If so... It makes sense why it's way above the 25K mark... Nothing to be surprised about.

Most likely due to the difference in the japanese vs. usa currency rates.

Guys, is that a surprise for you that cars in the US is cheaper than anywhere else in the world? E.g. all german brand cars are 20-50% more expensive in Germany than in the US: Boxer starts at circa. $50k in the US and about the same 50k but Euro in Germany. I Am not mentioning Norhern Europe or Russia (add another 20-40%) or Singapore: GT 86 costs there $150k or so.

A year ago I badly wanted to by a Camaro here but can't justiy paying over $80k for something what costs $35 in the US

So, guys, be happy and enjoy (but don't forget to pay your incomet tax )!

Yeah, I find it funny that the numbers on the sales tag on cars in the U.K. are pretty spot on identical to our price tags... except that little "£" that comes before theirs kinda makes them more expensive by about 50%!!!

Of course, the flip side of that is that most of Europe and Japan have excellent public transportation systems, so owning a car is a luxury. In most parts of America, if you don't have a car, you pretty much can't exist.

it looks like a BRZ with the fog lights, dual climate control, red stitching on the parking brake, and heated seats, but it has the 86 badges on the sides, toyata badging, and a FRS bumper.

its like they took a BRZ and FRS then blended it together and this is what you get.

the price is worth having the best of both worlds and its RHD.

This. I would gladly take public transportation to get to work and keep a sports car for strictly fun driving if I could... Keep the mileage and wear down, and keep my sanity! It's disgusting how much traffic there is trying to get into Boston in the morning, and I don't even work in the city but the highway starts to back up one exit before I get off... the other poor bastards still have 15 miles of stop-and-go to deal with!

Or it just the Japan GT limited spec (like the ad says).

The exact same spec can be had in Australia for $42k.
