Sorry to see that happen. Hope you can get it fixed soon and not be too much out of pocket.

I remember when I used to frequent the clubrsx forums (I had an RSX) and some guy had his car 'super-keyed'. They keyed absolutely everything from the body panels, door handles, mirrors, rims, lights (front and back) and even the windows. There really wasn't one part of the car that was not keyed. When you own a nice sporty car, unfortunately there is going to be someone who is jealous or just wants to be an asshole because they can.

Have them total the car and get a new one.. Dead serious, I'm like that.. I mean they probably cant total it, but a strong buff should be able to do a decent job, but If that happened to my FRS I just absolutely lose all conections and feelings for the car.. its gone. I cant knowing my car was immaculate and to have that happen I'd kill the person who did this.

To the OP, I feel for you. Not sure what I would do if I caught someone in the act. Probably something very dumb.

Are you familiar with the Donohue-Levitt hypothesis? Basically links the recent decline(last few decades) in violent crime with the legalization of abortion in Roe vs Wade.

Basically what do I do at this point? I filed a police report, but I'm just really upset about all of this. I hope whoever did this stays alive while the rest of their family dies in front of them. This is why I fucking hate people and our shitty society. AHHHHHHHH

fortunately,OR unfortunately,(depending on your point of view)
ya seldom ever catch these pric*s.what you are dealing with is
"absence of malice",and "burden of proof',because with out evidence,
(video) very little can be done ,other than (in my incident) complain to consumer protection organizations (b.b.b. attorney general).police will take the position that even with clear video, someone can key your car,and NOT be seen clearly doing it because they can "shield" the key as the walk along the car! sucks to be sure, but that's it! for what it is! very disconcerting!..just sayin'

Thing about it is that why should we suffer because of some other fuckhead which was thrown when it was "born".

Catch him/her/them, break all of their fingers, the cut them off.

That'll put a quick end to their keying ability.

Sorry to hear that happened to your car. My advice is, if you attempt to fix it via wetsanding polishing, I would have it brought to a shop first, and have the pictures documented for an insurance claim just in case.

I'm not sure how the insurance works where you are, but over here, if there are signs that the person tried to fix it, that could cause more problems.

There will always be A$$holes like this so that's why we should put security as our first priority on the list of modifications we want to do.

Some people are just d*ckheads. I bought an almost decade old base 3er BMW last year and within a month someone had kicked out part of my front bumper grill and once or twice it looked like chewing tobacco on the hood/lights, parking on the street in a decent neighborhood. Haters man.

I'm been a lurker for a good week now while I hunt around for a BRZ. But I signed on because this qualifies for my first post.

I think this is enough of a infuriating problem that the network ppl should get on and make a expose or a news segment out of. To identify the mind of the nuts, idiots or imbeciles that would go around and key nice cars. Knowing full well that the owners of these nice cars would not leave it as is and that it would be a major repair job to fix. Would it be a random act, a male, female, age group, employment status, headcase, addict, friend, ex-friend e.g. ?

I personally would like to do something equivalent to their face but I digress. In the past I've had my NSX keyed, fixed that weekend only to have it keyed again within the next two weeks. I've also had our X5, Legend, Pathfinder keyed as well. I was literally so scarred by this experience that I stayed away from nicer cars for some time and instead opting for the nondescript commuter car. Each time we contemplated a new car, we played in our minds whether we want to feel the agony of it vandalized or dinged.

Slowly we started coming back to enjoying the kind of cars I've wanted. Starting with my '03 M3 which has been relatively safe from keying and dings even after I take and park it everywhere. Perhaps Los Angeles is getting better and the number of such pricks have grown up. Or perhaps the e46 M3 looks like a regular 3 series that it fades in.

The FRS/BRZ does standout a bit in the parking lot with its cool design. But I hope you find solace in at least sharing your pain. Get it fixed and forget about the nasty experience.

just reading this makes me want to go check on my baby parked in public parking lot.

Have to go downtown for work sometimes and I always dread the construction and public parking lots.
