I absolutely love how the tire wall lip protrudes farther than the wheels, protecting the wheels from ever hitting the curb (unless you really hit the curb hard, in that case, you're SOL).

I think top gear is the best show on TV period. The thing that makes it so special is that even non-car people enjoy it. My wife puts up with my car obsession but does not understand it at all. However, she loves watching Top Gear with me and thinks it is hilarious.
I think it is the only chance we have at bringing up a new generation of auto enthusiasts. It is something you can watch with your kids and try to get them into cars. |

So Clarkson says this car is awesome because it's fun to drive at low levels of grip.
I agree. He says, don't change it... Don't add sticky tires because you'll just ruin the recipe. I disagree. I think you can add tons of grip and make this thing handle like a lotus and have fun with that as well. I would love to see someone fit out a BRZ with bigger wheels and sticky tires (and maybe a turbo or S/C kit) and then let Clarkson drive it again. I'd be really interested to hear what he thinks about it then. |

I understand what he's saying, but I also disagree. I think on public roads the slippery tires do make it fun without speeding too much, but if you're going to track it it'd be more fun on grippier tires because you'll still be able to work them around corners.
I'm planning on 245/35-18's in a max performance or ultra high performance as a nice middle ground as far as grip goes. Something like an RE760 or V12 evo or maybe the extremecontact dw for it's light weight (in a 35 sidewall the stiffness reduction should be negligible). Nathan |

I know it's just his personal opinion, and he's got way more personal experience than most of us will ever have, but how on EARTH can he think this is an ugly car?
