UGH expense...

or i just drive my corolla this winter and save my FR-S.
The Mustang ones will be a no-go, They're 5 x 114.3 (4.5").

You've got a little more money than I do, but being retired, I just don't go out in bad weather.
Did the same thing, Hakky Nordman used tires 5000km for $200 on steel rims.
WRX Impreza Legacy mags are all the same, 4 for $250 at the scrapyard in Carignan, having them powdercoated at ADN, behind the Costco in St-Hubert tomorrow. Andy does really good work.

My car is due to arrive in December so I am most definitely driving it in the winter. I don't have the self-discipline to even consider trying not to. Plus I figure with the neutral handling and TCS/VSC it shouldn't be too bad to drive in the snow.

^^ Neutral handling means it will rotate nicely and turns in sharp, not exactly ideal for slippery roads, BUT the TC/VSC is very protective and will keep you out of the ditch unless you really over cook it.

I meant neutral handling compared to the snap-oversteer that some RWD cars exhibit but I understand what you mean.

Pirelli IceControl 215/45R17 Winter Tires

I got my Pirelli IceControl 215/45R17 Winter Tires from the guys at 1010tires.com $1034.84 tax and installation included. Plus I have to mail in a $50 rebate. This would not have been my first choice but I talked to a couple of other guys and they suggested them as a good choice for the lower mainland as most of my driving is non highway around town and up to Cypress, Seymour for night skiing. - We'll see if the (lack of) ground clearance becomes and issue.

We have bad drivers.

Not a day goes by that on my ridiculously short 8km drive to work i'm not forced to avoid some idiot doing something contrary to the HTA and generally being a bother.

Not a day goes by that i don't see some jackass/ette cause gridlock at the busiest of intersections. The pedestrian timer is counting down, you can see it, when it hits zero 19 out of 20 lights will turn amber in 3 seconds. Everyone should know this. But NO they fucking ram on the ass of the car in front of them being absolutely sure that they will make it across when it turns green.

WRONG.

Not a day goes by that i don't see an impatient driver do a left turn on a red light.

Illegal parking

illegal turning

driving slow when you're supposed to speed up (like an on ramp)

tailgating when you're supposed to slow down (like a school zone)

you know how many times i've had some **** fuck blow past me at twice the speed in a low speed zone and then slow right the fuck down when the road opens up and we leave a residential area, WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH THAT?

parents doing all kinds of wild things in school zones early in the morning (i drive through one every day), it's pathetic. I see a parent blow past a stop sign, next to an elementary school, at least once a month. Like seriously FOR REAL YO.

And that's on a nice sunny day, the moment rain or snow touches the ground holy fucking shit let's turn the retard factor up to 11 and hammer down.

This is me every single day when i'm on the road. And i'm lucky because i dont hit the 401, if i did i would probably go apeshit and murder everyone by now.

I live in the burbs across from a high school. I totally get what you are saying.

And when I am crossing the road at the stop sign in front holding my 5 year old's hand, the older one and wife in tow and someone blows right through the stop sign it makes me sick.

These people usually only need tickets and demerit points to smarten up. There just aren't enough cops around when you need 'em. Too busy at the shawarma shop.

There are lots of "smartened up" drivers on the road too though.

Didn't like the fact that the used WRX - Impreza 16' used mags I got said Subaru on the plastic centre caps so I talked to someone who does graphics stuff and the quote he gave me was the same for either 4 or 50 weather resistant vinyl stickys, the 86 logo in silver/grey on a red background. No way will I pay the price he wants for 4 but if anybody else is interested, it'll be a deal.
