Being in the insurance industry and licensed in Florida, I would recommend increasing it at least to 25/50. (State requirements are just PD/PIP, state minimum BI limits are 10/20.) The reason for that is because if you need to switch insurance companies for whatever reason (which isn't impossible since a lot of companies are pulling out of certain counties in Florida, like Broward, Dade, Hillsborough, Orange, Pinellas, etc.), some (not all) other companies have changed their underwriting guidelines to require prior BI liability coverage of at least 25/50 for them to even cover you.

Just to clarify, most (not all) companies will not openly say that they cover mods, but usually in the claims process, they might let it slide as long as you include it on your policy as additional equipment with the proper value.

Oh cool thank you! Yeah I'm in Dade. I'll call them tomorrow. Have to talk to them anyways.

yup! they are never gonna cover engine mods,no matter the carrier!
very poor risk factor...and to be accurate,"smart" money says don't touch it until the
factory warranty is up,or you could get "hammered" there as well! ..just sayin'

Some people like myself knew about the warranty going in and would rather have the boost now. Scion parts are cheap anyway. But there are insurance companies out there that cover these things. My current one does, Elephant. For an extra $18/mo they cover up to $5000 on my turbo. I was just hoping to see if another company did to see if there were any cost savings to be had.

Auto insurance quoting is one of the easiest ways to save money these days. It's so simple to switch.

Just changed from Commerce to Liberty Mutual. Premium went from $2100 to $1400. Didn't change any coverages so not sure why the big jump in savings.
