6 months from now when I'm enjoying the car to the fullest, I won't even remember this incident. It just sucks to be stuck in this section of the forum when others are having fun in the general section. I hope everything turns out allright for all of us.

They will be in this forum soon enough.
I'm very surprised the media hasn't picked up on this yet. The only reason why automobile mag mentioned it is because it happened on their car during a feature segment.

I just got back from running the canyons here, a great morning.

I'm hoping I don't have the same problem but not much I can do about it except pound a few Red Bulls and run the tach to the limit until trouble hits.

I feel bad for you guys and I hope they find a resolution to this issue as soon as possible.

Oh yeah, still the best car ever.

Do I smell a class action lawsuit coming up? With the CEL and TRAC light on. Is the actual traction control off? If someone gets into an accident *knock on wood* wouldn't this be brought up as a cause of the accident?

hmm..

I couldn't have said it better. Same situation here. First purchase with Toyota and between the incredibly pathetic dealer support, the lackluster corporate customer service, and the design/manufacturing issue which Toyota is still failing to acknowledge or inform its new customers of, this will certainly be my last.

This has been a very difficult decision for me and it's a shame too because the 86 platform is amazing and everything I ever wanted. I simply refuse to encourage shady sales and deceptive corporate practices with another sale.

Unfortunately I hate white color cars.
Plus, judging by the large number of issues with existing stock, I'd say chances of a repeat CEL occurence would be pretty high. You should push for a replacement from the factory (that is if they really do have the problem solved...who knows).

I can't say for sure, but I would suspect that the dealerships are just as out of the loop as customers are. I asked one dealership near me, and they haven't had a single car come back with the issue.

I'd agree this is a problem with Toyota/Subaru head offices, not dealerships. IMO, they shouldn't be shipping more cars to dealerships until they have the issue solved.

I'm feeling lucky that I haven't had any issues with mine yet, fingers are crossed it stays this way and that they figure out the underlying issue and make things right for everyone that has been effected so far!

Registered just to add to the thread.

Sorry, I don't have my VIN handy since my new car is in the shop, but I was driving happy for 2400 miles before I got hit with the low idle issue and subsequent CEL.

I'm being told that the dealership has no idea when they will have the required parts in, but they've been waiting for over a month on parts for one of their lot cars.

If it's going to be a 30 day wait I believe that falls under the lemon laws in my state, anybody have any experience with filing such a claim? The Sales manager (BigTwo Toyota in Chandler AZ) essentially told me "To bad" when I asked what they were willing to do. It seems as if they feel that giving me a shitty TC rental is enough.

It seems to me that people's experiences have varied greatly with which dealership they bought the car at. The GM at my dealership and the service rep at the dealer it's being fixed at have both been great. I have had zero interaction with Scion so far. The GM is trying to get an extended warranty for me so if all goes well I won't have to.

Sucks that the experience depends so much on where you are, but it is what it is.

Checking in :(

My Asphalt FR-S (vin 7087XX) is reporting a P0016 Crank-Cam position correlation fault code at 1600 miles. CEL and Traction Control lights come on. It feels like there's a power reduction. Engine Idle is OK. Car being left at dealer for repair.
