It's funny, because in Vic that's illegal. No part of the plate can be covered.

Eh... should be fine.. I'm sure cops would rather look at my red tails or tint than my p plate location.

P plates are worth demerits though, which is an instant p's extension.

There are plenty of p platers driving around with their plates wedged in like this. I've had hwy patrol behind me in my 86 and they couldn't even care less. Police have bigger things to worry about. As far as most of them are concerned (even the harsh officers), the P Plate is up and clearly visible.

It's too much effort to try and keep a car that's intended to be modified within the "limits" that Vicroads and all set for street legal cars. P Plates are the least of my worries tbh.

Also, getting a demerit point loss on your p's doesn't extend your p's. That only happens once you have the license suspended or canceled.

Does the Melb P's have the "only one passenger allowed under 25YO after 10pm to 4am" Rule?

And if both your P's are like that, you get a license suspension, as the demerits are on a per-plate basis.

I don't get what the issue is. Putting them inside the car looks much better than having them hang off the front and back of the car.

The first year of P's (red P's) you can only have one person in the 16-21 year old bracket, unless they are family members. You can have as many people outside this bracket. There is no restrictions once you hit green P's.

We also don't have the absolutely stupid speed restrictions on our P's and L's.

This is off topic, but when I was in Melbourne I was so surprised how much you guys actually stick to the speed limit! Like not a single person goes even 1K over the limit. O.o Crazy.

and what i used to do on my P's when that must be displayed outside the car law came in...

go down to repco/supercheap and you should be able to find suction cup attachable p plates.
buy enough packets so that you have 4 suction cups for front and 4 for back.
use a hole punch to punch holes in the corners of the plate and then stick on your rear window.

Plenty visible, outside the car AND not touching the paintwork

had RBT's, cops behind etc.. none had a problem.

Well the issue is the rear P Plate isn't visible on the rear window, hence why it needs to go on the number plate. The front P Plate is fine on the front window, no issues there.

Screw the demerit points and the system lol. P Plates are the smallest things to worry about. Just chuck them up wherever you can.

Too many fixed cameras, that have NO warning signs from what I remember. In NSW we get warned by 3 signs before the camera.

My friend in VIC was telling me a few years back that fixed camera's can be in one spot for a few weeks, then moved 500m down the road.
Also heard that speed camera's can be hidden inside garbage bins on the side of the road.

We have got it better in NSW... At least we get warning signs for fixed cameras.

Wtf! Hiddeen in bins!? That's crazy.

We don't get 3 warning signs anymore. That law got changed a few years back. They have that one sign saying "Safety Camera Ahead" now. It's all about them now. They probably produce more revenue.
