Changed oil and added Ceratec. Went for a 60-mile drive and came back without a crash. Engine is running smoother, I am pretty sure

I don't know about that stuff -

I remember, back in the day, when they came out with detergent oil, people would use that oil instead of regular oil and the engine would revolt by starting a bunch of leaks because the additive would clean out all of the carbon and gunk that was keeping it from leaking. -

I sure hope your engine doesn't fly apart because of less friction - which could cause a crash -

Grandson and I drove my frs today. Had some practice with the transmission and clutch. He had to take a rest because he pumped up his leg trying so hard to get it right. I remember my arm pump the first time I rode my best friend's Bultaco Frontera 360.

Did not crash.

...either time.

I've noticed that too that these motors are always quiet when they are powered off.

You maken fun of me? -

The only car I can't tell whether it is turned off or not is mrs humfrz's Honda CRV with a "start/stop" button -

The same button starts AND stops it -

THEN, sometimes you have to push on the brake to make it go one way or the other. Twice now I've left her car "running" in the parking lot when I go into a store, thinking it was OFF!

No wonder she won't let me drive it anymore -

I remember when the Lassen county sheriff's boats on Eagle Lake were outfitted with Honda outboards. The sheriffs were used to starting the boats, then going to get coffee before heading out. They had to replace the flywheels on many of the motors because they kept getting back in the boat and hitting the starters with engines running. Honda outboards are the best.

Been there done that: When I picked up my 81 Prelude back in the day had the walk around with the salesperson when he got out the car that had been started like 10 minutes and quite warmed up, being used to my old junk with a worn tack cable and erratic needle jumping a few hundred Rpm s at idle I noticed the lifeless tack and engaged the key to be greeted by some bad starter noises.

Drove mine today running errands. Didn't get my errands done. Wasn't out for very long and my wife calls me. She is stranded. Truck died, so off to rescue the wife. All in all went pretty smooth. AAA got there pretty quick, and got truck to shop.

Did not crash.

Shame on you - - for leaving your wife with an undependable vehicle.

Last I checked, you had five vehicles in your stable. I'm going to suggest to your wife that she call Carvana and have them bring her out a relatively new, dependable car, in trade for two or three of your not so dependable vehicles.

By the way, how is your hand healing up?

Actally, that is the first time in 20 years the truck has ever stalled, and it's first tow. It's been very reliable. At least it happened close to home.

Hand is really taking its time. Both hands are still in lots of pain. I'm in need of two more surgeries as soon as I'm up to it.
