Today I learned, get the wrong person to head a department, the department very quickly starts to implode... And the "grown-ups" bury their heads and ignore the problem..

I'm working on project for a new client, our company is keen to develop strong relationships.. The client is liking the way the team is working and dangling carrots for further projects but the person heading up the department I work in is fucking up the department to the point where we have very good staff jacking in their jobs!!

Interesting times ahead (short and long-term)..

Well, they have been making them since 1950.

I think being a small company, competing with giants M&M/Mars and Hershey, plus being located in one of the most expensive areas on earth is forcing them to close. Can only run in the red for so long.

Very sad.

Coincidentally, TIL that Brach's Candies discontinued making Brach's Royals in 2022! Man, I loved those. Used to buy them in bulk for the candy jar in my office.

Hah, not sure a Brit should talk about candy names. Although I do love me some curly wurlys. (used to be a Marathon bar in the US back in the 70's)

The Marathon bar was way thicker than the wimpy British curly wurly.

Marathon changed into a Snickers.. Curly Wurly is still a Curly Wurly.

But, I think I have said this before on this Forum, the UK does the best biscuits.. if biscuits played football we would have won every single world cup..

I assume by biscuits you mean what we call cookies in the US. I can't say I've had a lot of UK biscuits.

Now if we are talking US biscuits (which in the UK are sort of scones) I'm sorry but there is no way to beat a buttermilk biscuit made by somebody's Grandma in the South US.
