Installed rear cosmetic diffuser. Need constructive criticism.
Hi!
Finally reinstalled new cosmetic diffuser from Ikon Motorsports. It’s gloss black. Originally, I installed unpainted one, but the pop in clips that held it finally gave out and due to my fear of drilling into bumper, I never did corners. Play stupid games, win stupid prices, I lost it after an event where it loosened up due to high stress. I hope it didn’t fall off on highway. Queue today, received new diffuser in gloss. Unfortunately, I was not sure how to screw/drill using equipment that came with it so ended up using only half the stuff that came with diffuser. 3 screws to hold middle portion (made sure they are reinforced) and heavy duty zip ties on rest+drilled holes on corners for more zip ties. Its very sturdy this time, no shake, my bumper itself is even more solid. What could I have improved on in this set up? Attached are few pics of the new booty. Cheers.

Some zip ties get stiff and break over time and exposure (years). Good call using three in each point. Keep checking over time. Replace all if one breaks.

looks good! now time to change the exhaust tips to something that doesn't look like it got smashed on a parking block!
typically, that's the white zipties, as black versions are typically rated for UV and some heat exposure.

I've wondered about that! I can only recall white ones ever breaking but never really dug into it.

Use Mothers polish drill bit (conic or ball red foam) for faster and better results. Than boots need 4th brake light. Is affordable cosmetic mod

They way more yellow than picture. SS3 S All done. Fixed so many electric issues. Time to sleep. Not worrying about grill unless it begins to fall off. Will just buy new one since mine has broken and cracked tabs Double checked diffuser. Thing is very sturdy. Now need a protective lip that looks oem.

that was where i learned that there's a plastic-type difference. been using mostly black zipties since with very few failures outside of structural situations that shouldn't have been done in the first place. and they normally end up looking better in most cases anyways

the wax should make the work you did hold up for at least a few months, depending on how much water/grit stuff you're driving through, and how much you drive the car.
