A list of online companies that buy cars?

Getting closer to embarking on what we hope will result in a new BRZ. And we need to part, after 16 years, with the S2000; my wife will miss it.

For a while, it looked like her nephew wanted it but we waited too long and got one elsewhere. Oh well. And it has been quite a while since we last sold a car on the open market (remember ads placed in the newspaper?) and I have no enthusiasm for dealing which a succession of 17-year-olds coming by to "get their VTEC high" with no intent or ability to buy.

So I am thinking about dealing with a company that would buy and re-sell the car.... yup, I'll take hit on selling price.

Beyond CarMax, which is nearby, I see Carvana on TV ads, and I recall we-buy-any-car, and I am relatively certain there are more. Is there a "comprehensive" list? Any pitfalls or companies to avoid? I figure if I got a fistful of offers, I'll at least see there the market is, or some idea of how much I am getting sc****d.

If the car was pristine, I guess I'd take a plunge and try Bring A Trailer, but the car is a DD and is not an Investor quality car".

KBB also offers purchasing pricing services (in a similar vein as Carvana and Vroom), but they work through dealers and it might be a little too much spam calling.

Note that most of those systems are geared more towards younger, more mainstream vehicles (think 5 year old Camry) so they might offer substantially less than fair price for your S2000.

Note that BaT/C&B aren't reserved just for pristine examples. Plenty of high-milage, driven-hard cars there. No harm in checking the online places first and comparing to recent BaT/C&B auctions.

Any others?

Just getting started, Vroom and Car Gurus came in below Carvana. Waiting on givemethevin.com.

So far, so good. We put about 50% down cash for the BRZ, financed the rest telling the dealer we're going to pay off the load VERY early (I figured it might take couple of weeks to tap into a retirement account I have sitting dormant). Uh, the Carvana offer pays off the entire loan within a couple of hundred dollars, so we should own it free-and-clear shortly.

Not sure if there are others I should try. The closest CarMax is about 12 miles away, I could drive the car over there but I'm close to accepting Caravan's offer and be done with it.
