i can t answer because ecutek updated again and i havent. So i dont know if they eventually locked up what they told they re gonna lock up.
And it shouldn t affect you as the end user of the tune, but the tuner itself as if everything proceed as it seems, he s not going to be able to open/mod those tables anymore
but i really don t know, you can email ecutek support and ask delucidations, seems a legit question if you are paying an official master tuner for the tuning

me and steve have experienced cases of people updating their proecu and the dongle got killed by ecutek remotely
it just stops working totally and ecutek pretend not to know the cause
having you then pay for a new dongle that they killed purpousely
So avoid any unnecessary update

When you say dongle, do you mean the small USB key for authentication or the larger OBD to USB dongle

yes, i mean the littke usb dongle. ecutek can remotely update it and kill it or force flash the latest revision of proecu that run with it so make downgrading impossible

but it can also access the obd and make it unusable if you don t update it
Which is what is happening right now if updating to last version, they are also pushing notification pretty often saying to update to receive flash points or new license even if you haven t bought any

Apparently in last revisions, ecutek started blocking relevant tables like CPC control for boost controller and things like that

yes they are free
you are a bit too late about conversion, any official way is locked
if you don t update you may be able to

today got a chance to open a us rom with latest update

the limitations are not so hard as I thought, they blocked CPC tables (so no Electronic boost control, a mechanic boost controller could work though)
and the closed loop afr target tables (not a big dead at all)

i forgot to look at DTC though

I bought a different dongle, purposefully did an update on a computer I don't tune with and got this info

I went through A01C, B01C, K00A, K01C, a couple F series ROMs and grabbed whatever I could find. Let me know if there's a specific ROM you want checked. The parameters I show above the DTC list are the only restricted parameters I could find.

With boost controller on CPC output not for sure if keeping us tune
I still tune us people but I upgrade them "somehow" to euro tune first
