2018 BRZ key lock question

Hello
Quick question: is the key lock (barrel) in the trunk the same as the one in the door on a 2018 BRZ? I mean, some brands have a shorter barrel in the trunk and they don't actually use the whole key to open (you only insert the key halfway and turn).

Asking because it's much easier to remove the lock from the trunk than from the door and I need to get a new emergency key cut as the previous owner lost both.

I checked my 86 and the key appears to go the same depth in the trunk lock as it does on the door. I don't know if the cylinders are identical since the valet key for mine will only open the door and not the trunk so it seems like there is something different about the trunk lock.

I have a regular keyed ignition and not push to start so I don't know how that might affect things either.

If anyone is ever in the same situation as me: you can get the key cut to the trunk lock, it will also open the door lock.

Applicable to: 2018 BRZ with Smart Key
