Noobie question: after market stereo for Subaru BRZ 2017+
Hi,
I would like to get an aftermarket stereo for a 2017 Subaru BRZ. My understanding is that the panels around the stereo unit are different in pre-2017 and 2017+ Subaru BRZ models. I have seen some manufacturers on Amazon indicate that their after market head unit fits the pre-2017, but not the 2017+ models. I have struggled to find reliable information about this. Could anyone here please recommend a good aftermarket unit for the BRZ 2017+? Any tips for things to look out for? Thanks! |

Crutchfield is usually a good starting point. They send you everything you need.

Still a useful tool to see which harnesses, headunits, etc work together . I used them just to confirm I had the right stuff and then ordered it locally for far cheaper.

The biggest challenge with the mounting kits today is quality. I give credit to Crutchfield as they include much of what is needed, mileage varies, but my last experience was I didn't use the plastic mounting kit at all due to subpar quality.
I raise this item as our GT86's use a non-US std size, increasing the need/requirement for a mounting kit. |
