Why is this article below from people who've done over 1,000 FRS/BRZ/86 dyno runs stating that a GR86 makes 221.25whp SAE, (and is truly underrated making roughly 260hp at the flywheel) compared to the 187whp shown here. That's a big difference. Is the car underrated or not?

In other parts of the world where "inflated power numbers dynojets" aren't common we get numbers close to what CSG have.

Long story short. All dynos read different. Don’t get to hung up on the numbers as much as the delta between optimizations.

Hard to say what other setups will do. Ultimately, the Dynapack we have is our tool to use to develop and understand how the FA24 responds to tuning. The EcuTek BETA is packed with lots of neat things, quite a bit more detailed and extensive than before.
Have you guys done any testing regarding the counter in the ECU that tracks whether it's been tuned, then returned to stock?

That's really the biggest factor on whether I will put a tune and/or Header and/or flex fuel kit on this gen.

A great result here for a prototype SME 4-2-1 EL header + e85 tune. +27kws and a good looking graph.

sure wish I could see the screen.

do you all ever watch your videos after you upload them?

put a screenshot on the video or at least shoot the screen straight on to remove the glare.

and for those of us in the free world who measure in donuts per bald eagle it equals:

+36hp
+30tq

Cars tuned by us frequent the track so it gets tested, abused, stress tested, and logged consistently. What you're describing is that phenomenon that occurred in 2012-2014 time frame - sounds like you're an old head here (just like us).

Definitely wait it out a little bit until everything is vetted. Remote tuning isn't ready yet.

Very nice to see some tuned results for the 2.4, thanks for sharing. The tuned version with the header is in the same ballpark to what my stage 1 turbo (reliable/conservative) configuration was putting out on my 13 brz on 91 octane. That’s very nice to see an atmospheric setup that provides similar output as to what would fall in FI territory on the gen1.

Mike, do you have plans to do a map tuned on 93/94 octane with that configuration ?

Dynojets are one of the only dynos you can reliable compare to other Dynojets around the world. Whether you think the numbers are inflated or not, they are the gold standard for comparisons. NASA uses them for determining power to weight for many TT and wheel to wheel classes.

In simple terms, a Dynojet calculates power by how fast the car spins a 2500lb drum. That is a constant that largely is not effected by other things. Other dyno systems like Dyno Dynamics, hub dynos, Mustang can all be altered by set up parameters which will cause a different result.

CSG's numbers are just that, they are only compatible to the dyno at the facility they use (guessing Church Automotive). At Church, all of the dynos read different despite being the same brand.

Been waiting to see Ecutek drop for the new gen and e85 power numbers, may be time to finally start shopping for a GR86. I’ll miss my Thunder Grey 86GT

I'll probably be in this camp as well, but the temptation to tune will be crazy once remote tuning is offered.

CSG uses CSG's dynapack.
