Well.. not really "home" stuff.. but @Opie and I did some work on our champcar shop/storage space and moved some cars from my one storage unit to another 625sqft space 3 spots down from the shop that'll be used to, eventually, store my MR2s, Galant and Z06.
First though I bought 6 4' LED light assemblies with 4 LED tubes each for the workshop space.. I was just going to wire it with extension cords from the outlets but @Opie changed my mind so instead one of the 8' dual fluorescent bulb assemblies was removed and a dual outlet box was installed. We didn't remove the other light assembly because it had live power running through it and we would have had to basically rewire everything.... without turning off the power. Anyways.. @Opie trying not to kill himself (worth noting, we did turn off the switched power to these lights but whoever did them left a live hot wire with a little electrical tape on it sitting in the fixture as well): Lighting done.. shop messy: Slightly less messy... Next day it was time to move the 98 Integra Type-R and the 94 MR2 Turbo.. ITR wouldn't stay running.. thought it was a clogged intake or fuel system issue, took the intake apart last night and confirmed it was clean so assuming fuel.. anyways had to winch it up Which sucked since I didn't bring a wheel for it.. Opie went to get the FR-S wheel to finish loading.. MR2 on Opie's trailer And the car storage unit.. currently holding my 91 Galant VR4, 94 MR2 Turbo and @coolhandluke 2013 BRZ.

I'd wait until a second gen is made or find a way to hard wire them. I set all of it up to work with one controller which was pretty easy but I removed the batteries to charge them up and everything had to be reprogrammed so... annoying. I'm surprised that there's no persistence for the price. Other than that, I have no idea how often I'll be opening them but it's nice to have an option. They do blackout well. The mounts are super fragile. I saw someone create 3D prints of the weird moving plastic retainer because his broke. I almost broke one of mine during install.

It gets better. The damage extends to the threshold/sill plate/rim joist beneath the house entry door, which also serves as structural support for the landing at the top of the basement stairs and the anchor for one stringer.
There are times a gas leak would be handy. |
