you can't change it without modify the tune, it won't even crank and start You ll see the higher boost, but mostly no difference in performance, you can save the money for it Also because i don't think you get to modify the CARB tune, you d have to keep it as it is, and it needs the oem map sensor |

Do not change your MAP sensor. It will not work with the CARB tune, which is designed for the stock MAP sensor. |

Now I appear to be running into an issue. I haven't driven my twin in about a week where last time she was running great. I took her out for a spin today and I'm noticing that acceleration is sluggish and I'm getting a more pronounced supercharger whine. By sluggish, I mean that acceleration is nearly back to stock.
In response, I checked the running temps, traction fluid level (at running temp), belt alignment, and the intake to the compressor wheel. I'm not seeing anything new or any issues in general. Before I start diving deeper and taking things apart, I'd like to reflect on peoples experience here regarding which directions to look for in this particular system to find the root cause. I'm holding out that it's not the unit itself, but after removing the intake to the compressor wheel and running at temp, it sounds like it's coming from inside the compressor. The next minimal step I might take is to remove the belt, rotate the compressor pulley and listen for noise/feel for added resistance. If I don't notice anything new, I'll run it again with the belt reinstalled and aligned again to see if the mechancal equivalent of the "turn it off, and then turn it on again" works. Update: I'm 100% sure the rotrex unit is screwed. I get variable resistance when I try to spin it CCW. At some points the rotation feels normal, and other points I can barely rotate it by hand.
My main concern is what caused failure. I can't conclude yet whether or not it's something like a manufacturing defect, pulley misalignment (doubtful as I was careful to ensure that wasn't the case with the assistance of measuring tools),or some other reason. Again I'll ask, are there any other pitfalls in the system I can look for to ensure this doesn't happen again? In the meantime, I'll be contacting JR for a replacement. |

Update: Looking at the total install with the bumper off, I noticed that one of the couplers off the intercooler had slipped off. All of the symptoms make sense now considering that it was a boost leak. At the very least, this is a note to other owners to be mindful of.

Looking for input
My supercharger has been extraordinarily loud lately. The whine is extremely audible and it hasn't always been like this. I changed its air filter & topped iits oil earlier this season. Daily driver only. Prob has around 50,000 miles on the compressor. The whine is directly correlated to rpm, so as I accelerate the whine increases intensity. It's not a BAD sound, it sounds dope to be honest, now it's clearly audible that my cars boosted but I started it up this morning and it simply sounds like the belt is meeting resistance in the compressor. Is this increased sound a bad omen? I guess I should see how much effort it takes to turn the turbine by hand? Not sure how to do this, take the belt off and unclamp a hose?

Visually, it seems my SC pulley needs to go in about 0.5-1 mm towards the engine block in relation to other pulleys. So, I was thinking of filing down the three mounting studs by equal amount. Would this work? |

Something is installed incorrectly or impeding proper installation. remove it and re-install.

i understand what im about to ask may be an unintelligent question and seeing as I havent come across much info on the internet, it likely is but hear me out.
Has anyone run an electronic boost controller on a centrifugal supercharger, my logic behind it is boost by gear. I know it doesnt make sense on the stock 7 or 9 psi pulley but with something like a RS pulley (assume built engine and supporting mods for this caliber of build) and an EBC you could bleed off boost in 1st, 5th and 6th gears and go for all the juice in 2nd-4th or adjust to your liking. I understand why people use an EBC in turbo cars and why superchargers dont have boost controllers but im thinking a little out of the box here, it could allow for quite some flexibility if someone wants to run high boost with no turbo lag but not always have all the boost available the way a SC gives it.....am I crazy?
