I'm going to be posting our results separately as well, but here's a plot of our 2022 vs a gen 1 (tuned) that was done a couple of years ago. This is on a Mustang AWD500-SE.

Got my baseline dyno done today, bone stock GR86 with ~1200 miles on it (Dyno Jet):
206 whp
166 ft.lbs

This car is much quicker than my old twins, stock for stock, and even against my BRZ with bolt-ons & tuned on 91.

My bone stock 2017 BRZ (Mustang, different dyno than GR86 obviously):
178 whp
144 ft.lbs

My bone stock 2013 FRS (Mustang, same dyno as BRZ):
173 whp
141 ft.lbs

My 2017 BRZ with ACE A-350, hfc front pipe, exhaust, CSG Zack tuned on 91 made (Mustang, same dyno as stock pulls):
190 whp
152 ft.lbs

I am rusty on reading dyno sheet numbers, but are all of those uncorrected numbers? Also, I know Mustang dynos show lower numbers than dynojets, so do you have any idea of what percentage difference is expected between the two dynos?

No, those are the weather/altitude corrected numbers. The uncorrected numbers are much lower, atleast for my BRZ and FRS because those were dyno'd in Denver altitude (5280'). The GR86 was dyno'd in Phoenix, so less correction because it is closer to sea level (~1200'). To add, the DynoJet uses an SAE correction factor, which was 1.01 for my GR86 dyno, where as the Mustang uses a weather correction factor (WCF, between 1.75 and 1.2 for my cars, depending on the day).

I don't know what the % difference is between these dynos, but there is obviously going to be some variance just based on all the different variables, including the dyno.

To me, the important part is keeping the car on the same dyno throughout its mod lifecycle, to most accurately show the gains. The comparison of my old cars to my GR86 is neat to see, but not a very equal comparison because of what I mentioned above.

Below is the uncorrected and corrected (WCF) numbers for my modded BRZ (don't laugh )

Updated the list with both KillerB's and justinco. Now officially at 30 cars, though KillerB's heartbreaker pulled the average down by over 1/2 a whp, haha, the first one under 200whp.

I don't know if it's fair to compare ours to the Gen 1, because the Gen 1 we had was tuned. It was more an anecdotal comparison.

I think removing our Gen 1, or removing it from the percentage formula, would be more precise for the Gen 2 percentage change.

Ahh, good to know! I'll edit it now.

With how low the 22 dyno'd I thought it was strange the gen1 was so high, but now that makes sense!

Seems like Subaru didn't have the janitors tune the new cars. I wonder if there's much headroom left for gains?

I think there will be similar gains, if not pretty close. If you think about it, the FA20 made 205hp, or 102.5hp/liter. This falls in line with the ~170-175whp they tend to put down, assuming a ~15% drivetrain loss. And it appears the FA24 is making ~250hp, or just about 104hp/liter. So the percentage increase in power is very close to the percentage increase in displacement. That would tell me that similar, or at least pretty close, gains could be had with bolt ons, tunes and e85. Some people managed 30-40whp gains with FBO and e85, I expect it will be similar. Once tuning is unlocked I have no doubt we will see over 250whp, NA on e85.

What was your altitude uncorrected whp/wtq?

It doesn't show it explicitly on the DynoJet. But the factor was 1.01...so only a few HP lower for uncorrected.
