Must have accessories

Are there any must have accessories for the GR86?

My previous car had a small storage space behind the navigation display. It was nearly useless unless you picked up a custom made little shelf for it so you could keep a pair of sunglasses and other small things. Wondering if there’s anything that makes the GR86 more practical.

Does anyone know where to buy a GR86 specific sunshade?

Also, are there any recommendations for dash cams that work well on track days? I’m not sure how well dash cams work with a stiffer suspension (higher NVH) at high speeds. GoPros do a great job of stabilizing the images on track. Be great if a dash cam could pull dual duty on the street and track.

I picked up one of the Covercraft UV100 sun shades. It was for the Gen 1 cars, but it's a perfect fit. I've had a number of them over the years and have always been impressed by the quality.

I have a cup holder similar to this one. It works well for me because I rarely have passengers.

Since the car has blind spots I added one of the little blind spot stick on mirrors to each side.

I just adjusted my side mirrors to eliminate the blind spots.

I have a Garmin Mini 2 installed behind the rear view mirror. It’s completely invisible and the quality is fine for reviewing autox runs.

If the dash cam is adhered to part of the car that can't really move/flex and the mount itself doesn't move/flex, you should get a reasonably stable image. At the very least, you'll get an accurate reflection of the ride quality.

The cheaper cameras that have a mounting arm will allow a lot of flex and amplify every bump.

I haven't personally checked on my Thinkware (Q800OPRO) but the entire chassis of the camera is a solid block that attaches to a cleat with a large mounting surface so there's no play at all once it's mounted. It may as well be part of the glass. If the image jumps it's because the car jumped.

Yea mine is double sided taped to the mirror with a 3D printed wedge to aim it forward. The mirror ball joint is really stiff, so It’s not moving. The image doesn’t need stabilizing.
