I know man. I was just being sarcastic because don't you wonder WHY Hyundai offers such a good powertrain warranty? Funny how cocky those guys can be when their brand is still remembered for making POS cars (yes I realize that Hyundai has made spectacular strides and are now making pretty good cars).

exactly my point, their boasting about best warranty is like Dell says they have customer service available at all time. ill shoot myself first before calling. i'm not saying Toyota/Scion shouldn't make their warranty longer but when it comes to warranty I'd rather take quality over quantity.

*took 5 seconds to relive horrifying Mits warranty claim experience*

*glance out the office windows at the FR-S lovingly*

I know man, I'm just a sucker for "This week's sign of the apocalypse..." Maybe a result of reading too many Sports Illustrated's? And it is a sign of how far they've come that these guys can even begin to think about having superiority complexes.

LOL. How about Subaru owners having a superiority complex over Scion?

Don't get me wrong, Subaru has always made excellent cars, but they have never, never been a show off, look-at-me, ultimate driving machine bullshit, kind of company. They just make excellent cars - a little different than everyone else.

Scion, in my opinion, has had a pretty similar philosophy. Their cars are high quality cars that are cheap, with innovative design and good engineering. I haven't always liked their offerings, but I they are not inferior.

The idea of waiting for the BRZ based on brand snobbery is mystifying.

There is always a car for a kind of underdog. A guy who gets something that doesn't have a lot of prestige in order to become its most loyal defender. Its like they want to be the underdog so they can fight for it and prove their undying devotion. Hyundai is still that kind of car, but it won't be for long. They are the Honda of the future.

Agreed. It is unbelieveably true where I live. I get a lot of snobby BRZ owners telling FRS owners to "BEAT THIS FRS.. HIDS!" and in my head, I am doing a giant facepalm because this is absolutely snobbish. Plus.. I can just buy HIDs here for $60... Please, just respect both cars. And in a much larger sense, have some respect as to where the car originates, you know?

i dont think they have any real "hate" towards the car, but more or less "hating" on the car. which has a different meaning nowadays. looks like they are just jealous or bias against the car saying stuff like its over hyped, and how the owners are young dudes who wont even use the car for its only purpose which is on the track ok well, how often are you gonna use that 270+ hp big body with lots of roll in your car? GC is gonna give the new v6 stangs a run for their money. nothing to brag about. if youre not first, your last. whats the point of getting a car that is suppose to be fast if its still at the bottom of the list. might as well get a car that is enjoyable, and fun to drive. with that being said, i dont think the GC is a bad car, and i think it looks pretty cool from the side. i wouldnt go bashing on other cars if i owned on though.

He probably COULDNT drive one if he wanted, and if he were smart he would know that the chances of the sti coming out next year is probably slim. i hate people also, you should have just said this to him. I love how some of them make it sound like the FR-S is a cheap car, and the Genesis Coupe is this exclusive, expensive sports car. A couple grand doesn't mean shit when you are already spending $25k on a new car, they need to get their head out of their ass.

I still don't understand how someone can call themselves an "car enthusiast" and then be completely bias against all car brands except the one they drive. You are not a car enthusiast, you are a (insert car brand here) enthusiast.

its funny cause I always thought that if any other car owner would get us it would be the GC guys.

A sports car from a brand that isn't know for them

Underpowered (1st gen)

Cheap

Everyone gets soo defensive when a new car comes out. We all buy what we want and its all good

The Gen coupe is too damn big and too damn heavy, and it don't look sexy at all.

This is ass-backwards thinking. Why do you think in such a narrow minded fashion? At the end of the day, you're driving a Toyota... At the end of the day someone driving a Bugatti is telling a Gallardo owner that hes just driving a entry-level Lambo. The only difference between us (car enthusiasts) and ignorant bimbos is that fact that we appreciate cars for what they are and can look PAST the badge. Once we stop doing that we may as well start civil war here on this forum since BRZ owners have the better badge right?

There is SO much wrong with this statement. Except the last sentence.

One member said the FRS was a death trap because it doesn't warn you when it's gonna kick the back out....are you serious? I never even test drove the genesis because that fat pig isn't even close to what I want in a car. I don't care how much power is in it. But if you seriously think the FRS is a death trap I can't imagine how boring it must be to drive a genesis coupe.

I didn't see allot of hate there. Our reaction to the "wrecked FRS" was pretty similiar.
