I'd like to learn why unexpected expenses all come at the same time.
$2,500 in medical last week $400 in pet medical this week so of course my throw-out bearing died on the way home from the vet. |

i specifically keep the old paper books for those. much easier to page through a book looking for what i want than trying to find the right terms in a 'blind' search engine...

Yeah, trying to search on digikey was a nightmare. I usually start out on google images and see if I can luck into what I am looking for. Mouser was pretty good, I think I am close. There is also connectorexperts.com as a last resort, but those assholes want 75-80 bucks for what should be 3-5.

TIL that the "light sensor" on the dash of our 2004 Suburban (we purchased in 2012) has never worked properly. This explains why the DRLs never come on and the headlights are always on. It never occurred to me because I obviously never see the front of the car when driving and the DRL's (which are separate lights on GM trucks of that age) only come on when you are in Drive.
That also explains why the halos on my replacement headlights I installed never worked as they are wired to the DRLs. Now I need to decide if I want to spend the time to basically pull the entire dash apart to replace a $15 part that hasn't worked in at least 9 years.
