Got to drive 3 laps in a 991 GT3 at NCM Motorsports Park in Kentucky.
I will say, after getting back into the FRS on the slower backroads to get to the track, the FRS was comparable in some areas. Steering feel and brakes weren't that different. Both cars feel balanced too. The GT3 moreso, obviously. Yes, the Gt3 is a 10/10 relative to the FRS which would be a 1/10 in regards to capability, but the fact that I felt at home in a Gt3 and found something that was familiar in the FRS really speak volumes to the engineers at Subaru and Toyota. Driving the Gt3 is also the reason I would never waste money on a Huracan. Drove that too. I always thought that the Huracan was THE car to own. But shit, it felt like a faster GTI. GT3 all day every day, now and forever. For the people who can buy them, I'm jealous and good on you for putting money into what is the #1 car in the world. The amount of times I've come across GT3s, GT2RS, GT3RS is staggering. And to watch them dogfight on the track is some of the best shit ever. Maybe it's my area, but these things do not seem to be foreign to the track at all, and their owners are incredibly experienced.

I'm not a fan this time around. I think the 992 is a big step back, visually, from past 911s.

No, regular Huracan.
I'd be curious to try it, but still skeptical. If the starting point was so disappointing, I feel like there would be only so much more you could improve upon. The base 911 is an excellent car (based on every reviewer/journalist I have ever read) so they are building from a great starting point. Although, yes, the V10 is superior in terms of noise. |

I'm sure the results would likely be surprising, unlike the likes of ZR1s/Z06s, cars known as retirement gifts..
