I’m at about 47,000 right now.

The thing to keep in mind is I learned manual on this car so I probably put those bits through a bit of a beating the first few thousand miles.

I’ve had different kinds of TOB noises for probably a year or so already (past 10k or so miles). Mostly like marble rolling around type noises that went away if I pushed in the clutch. Also some difficult shifting even with recent trans fluid changes.

About a month ago I started getting some intermittent higher pitched whirring/buzzing noises that came and went, but would go away if I clutched in too.

So I figured I should just get it swapped out. It could’ve been a little early too but I wanted to be safe.

I also had my TOB replaced at 50k miles with the same parts.

Definitely recommend getting it done sooner than later!

Swapped the Sachs/Eibach out with the CSG Tein FLA kit. Also installed the ARP OEM length studs. CSGs come with very little, if any, adjustments needed. I did two rounds of minute tweaking at each corner based on my weight etc. and had Street Automotive in Reno take over for the final fine tuning of camber/caster/et al and alignment.
Any benefit for Tein coilover compared to Sachs/Eibach?

I'm at 79k kms (49k miles) and so far no weird noises. *knock on wood*

Was mostly curious because spike and I got our cars around the same time and it's not super common to see 2017+ with TOB failures but they certainly still happen even with the updated part.

From what I've read here though I know that as soon as it starts getting noisy to not ignore it so it doesn't take out other parts with it...

I guess it would depend on how hard you drive your car.

If it's just your daily that brings you from point A to point B, then it'll probably last longer than someone, like myself, who does occasional Sunday spirited driving and WOT on almost every single on ramp.

I believe some of the earlier 2017’s didn’t get the updated TOB. I thought I checked my VIN against a TSB for it a while back and it didn’t come up as one of them but anything’s possible.

I generally do pretty ok with operating the car, except the first couple months. Like I use the dead pedal most of the time, don’t rest my foot on the clutch pedal, minimize clutch slipping as much as possible (basically only in first or in reverse), etc.

I think the shop actually gave me my old TOB in a box so if I can figure out how to tell if it’s bad, I’ll upload a pic maybe lol.

Yeah maybe this too. I’ve done a track day and a car handling “autox”, plus canyon carving. I also honestly drive it hard (not recklessly) on the street, more like just shifting late at upper rpms and stuff.

So that could have all contributed, plus the learning manual on this car thing.

Did my 60k mile oil change today. I feel it's been forever since I've done it, but that's to the fact that I live very close to work and haven't been driving as much this past year.
