with or without the flux capacitor?
That would make a huge difference between going somewhere and going elsewhere.

I’m not a fan of the Subaru front end, or the side skirts. The rear end looks good to me however I realize many disagree.
The aftermarket will fix the side skirts but I’m awaiting Toyota to unveil their version to see the different front end. Even that can be replaced (I usually change a ton of parts on my project cars) but the current gen looks phenomenal as is to me.
At this point the first gen cars look far better to me, it’s the chassis improvements and new engine that make me want to drive the new car.
I still prefer the originals styling wise hands down, it will take me a few k$ to change up the new BRZ to where I’d like it.
I have $27k saved up thus far and have a daily driver so I’m in no rush.
I will have to drive one to see if the new improvements make it THAT much better than the current car which I love driving in the California mountains.
Going to be patient.

I haven't seen it in the flesh yet so I gave it a 1 just to skew the results. Lol
In reality, my 2013 in it's current state still gives me a stiffy.

Might get in the way when hitting those canyon roads though...

Announcement coming on 5 April

Announcement coming on 5 April, by Subaru and Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR). It's seems likely that it's for the Twins as it is by TGR and not Toyota.

To me this feels like another Corolla XRS 9th gen -> Corolla XRS 10th gen jump in the making. The 2ZZ-GE was exciting and the smaller, nimbler platform was fun. The next gen wasn't bad, but it was somehow even more boring to look at and exist around. The 2.4L offered was uninspiring to say the least, that trim was literally a downsized Camry with a stiff suspension.

Didn’t it gain almost 500lbs between those 2 chassis?

In my eyes it couldn't be more different.

I owned a 2zz, there was no follow-up to that sports spec of the corolla 9th gen.

That is not the case with this new 86/BRZ, all its performance metrics are up and its a dedicated sports car platform.

That's what I'm saying with the 2ZZ comparison. It was as much a clean sheet engine compared to the 3S series as the FA is to the old EJ blocks. Toyota is still using D4-S in their newer engines, things were much more NA performance aligned for the first gen. The newer FA24 is going to move the car faster like the 10th Gen XRS (That did exist, powered by the camry's 2.4L engine. https://www.motorweek.org/reviews/ro...ta_corolla_xrs) in that it's getting more power from displacement and I don't suspect much else. It also isn't as likely to enjoy revving out just because it's a bigger engine.

This is 100% speculation though. When they're out I'll test one and we can all laugh at my terrible predictions if it's way more fun and I end up trading mine in or something like that. I don't think that's happening though, the styling also isn't very appealing to me vs the current gen.

Yes, yes it did. It also gained proper traction control and a lot of commuter-focused features. The 10th gen isn't bad, just uninspiring and a product of the recession and safety regulations coming into effect.
