2018 tS - Strut Part #'s
So the 'brand new' 2018 tS that I just purchased turns out used to be owned by Perrin... and it looks like someone there swiped the suspension goodies and replaced them with their worn DD struts and some H&R lowering springs.
1. Can someone confirm that the 2018 tS Sachs Dampers are the same ones that are offered on the Performance Package upgrade? 2. Does anyone know the Subaru Part numbers for the 2018 tS Sachs Dampers? 3. Are the pink STI springs on the 2018 tS the same that you could get from Subaru's aftermarket site? (10mm lower?) Bonus: Is the Perrin rep still active on here so I can ask them what all they removed from this car? It'll make my life much easier so I know what to replace. Thanks! |

2. These should be the droids you're looking for (at least the front ones): http://https://parts.subaru.com/a/Subaru_2018_BRZ-20D-6MT-STI/_54106_6025263/FRONT-SHOCK-ABSORBER/Z10-210-01.html At this price point you can consider getting a set of coilovers instead of oem suspension but it's up to you and your goals with the car Last edited by MrSkubi; 03-15-2021 at 07:58 AM. I'm aiming to keep it OEM, given the mileage of it I was looking to keep it stock. Kinda bummed to learn this after having bought it - |

2020 TS uses even different, updated shocks. I would get those instead.

My first thought would be to get revised 2020 version too but since op has 2018 winged TS and changes between the two versions (2018/2020) of TS shocks are unknown to the public I wouldn’t risk getting ones designed to work with wingless TS.

I didn’t even think about that. Not only the weight of the wing but the downforce from it will have an affect on the shocks. So in that case, 2018 TS shocks or Bilstein B6.

In case anyone needs to know - the performance pack struts are actually different.
The 2018 tS part numbers are as follows: Struts: FR: 20310CA240 FL: 20310CA250 RR/L : 20365CA220 Coils: F: 20330CA260 R: 20380CA270 |

2017 front left: 20310CA230 2019 front left: 20310CA290 2020 front left: 20310CA291 But you made the right choice with going to OEM Ts struts/shocks. One thing to keep in mind with your installation is that even though the rear springs share the same part number, they are "angled" when put on the ground so you need to make sure the spring angle points outwards towards the fender so you can get a proper alignment. |
