Make sure you turn the heat on all the way and turn on the cabin fans while you do it! Open/Close the bleeder screw at the firewall entrance a couple times as well. Wear gloves when you do it. |

Make sure your slim fans aren't the super weak ones. Also upgrade your oil cooler core to a 20 or 25 row and/or mount it to the side. The idea is to not block the radiator too much and to dump the oil heat elsewhere than directly back into the coolant/engine bay.

So I bleed my system for another 30 mins, had some bubbles but not much.
When i drove to work in the morning at 6am outdoor temp as 85F. After my 25 mins drive, coolant temps highest was 205Fand oil temp was 195F. When i drove back home at 7pm outdoor temp was 96F. After the same 25 min drive home, coolant temps highest was 229F and oil temp was 224F. I am going to cut my fender vents and relocate my oil cooler,then give an update then.

@Evasive Motorsports
Their 2018-19 setup is rocking the 'smile' grilles as seem on Porsche's GT3-GT4 cars. Rennline has a vent kit for a bit of $200USD for adding the vent to non-GT porsche cars. Wonder if it translates over for the twins... http://www.rennline.com/Rennline-GT3...oductinfo/E9X/ [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6IZTEkRrNc&t=2m55s[/ame] Kind of an odd place for a vent as their upper V-mount setup would have to be pretty horizontal for get the extraction, to the point where it is almost out of the main opening's air stream. On an FA20 it would stock setup it would likely rob from your airflow and take from the OEM airbox's scoop.

I blocked(is that the right term) in my cooling stack this week. spirited driving with 50f ambient temps I was seeing about 202-204f oil temps. Today it was in the upper 60s, and oil temps sat around 192-195f. all .025 thick aluminum sheeting.

what are other people using? ABS? This is probably lighter or as light, and I enjoy working with aluminum.

The design more than material. I used aluminum myself. Usually a cone from the grill directly to the radiator blocking air from going anywhere except the radiator is how it's done. I'm not trying to shit on you, if it works, it works

Oh ok gotcha. Yeah it’s hard to see but that’s exactly what it’s doing. Everything is blocked except for the path to the intercooler and everything behind it. I just didn’t angle it towards the middle and instead just a 90 angle. This is my first time making a piece like this So it will probably change once I get it on a track.

I have read the entire thread, but curious if anyone has tried venting heat out the fake side vents on the front fenders?
