Sounds like a good place for an apocolypse-themed Nerf fight lol.

Except for the very first week of lock-down, I've been in the office through the whole thing. Could work from home but frankly its just easier being in the office.

I have never been off. Even when the plant was down for a month I was one of only two people still in. Since we came back up in May I have worked a minimum of 10 hours every day with some of them going over 12. These are the joys of being a Health and Safety professional during a pandemic I guess.
The nice part is that since we are not permitted to travel between plants in different regions I have not had to go to the one in the hot spot and have managed it by phone and video.

Everyone getting laid off was told yesterday. I am glad they told people early so they would stop asking me Most had vacation time left so they where allowed to use it on the 2nd which will continue their health benefits for November. Most were pretty much okay with it so that was good.

Yea, never off either, just had the option to WFH. MomHawk was working from home for 3 months, then off for the summer (standard, she works for a school system) then back in schools this Fall.

I did have two sons without jobs, or on partial employment for several months. They did OK though thanks to unemployment, the Federal kicker, and living at home for the duration. They are both back to full time employment now.

My mom apparently took my dad to the hospital in the middle of the night last night.

Supposedly he's doing fine now and they've been running tests since he was brought in. Nothing conclusive other than possibly he strained a muscle or something and it caused him to get dizzy in the middle of the night and fall on the floor.

I'm trying to decide if I should drive up to SF where my parents live. My mom is back at home working and says I don't need to right now. Dad is still getting tested but he thinks he should be able to come home later.

Tough decision. I'm the only child local enough to get over there right now if needed so it's my responsibility.
