Oil leak
Hey guys, so I’m near the time for a new oil change, unfortunately my car started making some weird noises and making some weird vibrations. I checked my oil and there was hardly anything in there. There is a small sign of a leak on the driver side near the bottom but nothing significant. I’ve also looked up major signs of an oils leak and none of the symptoms match up. I did get a check engine light and the code read C000A i believe.
I did have an oil control valve replaced when i first bought the car, but other than that i haven’t had any bad luck with the car (knock on wood). Has anyone experienced anything like this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Is the first time you checked the oil at the end of the interval?

If you change your own oil, now would be a good time to do it. Measure the amount of old oil that comes out of the crankcase. Refill the crankcase. If you don't change your own oil, add oil till the dipstick reads full. Start it up and check for any codes. Report back. Maybe you got lucky. |

I checked it about a week ago, when it started making noise. I noticed there was hardly any oil, so i added a bit but it seems to be burning through it pretty quickly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks @humfrz, i really hope i did lol. I don’t see a mess so that’s a good thing but i just find it very odd. And since i replaced the oil control valve once i figured it might need another change. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Now, where is the oil level appearing on the dipstick (in reference to the holes in the dipstick)? If your car is using a lot of oil, I doubt that it's "burning" it - unless you have oil dripping from the exhaust tips and blowing a huge cloud of smoke out the exhaust. If it's leaking that much oil, it should be evident by looking for drips under the engine and/or a puddle of oil under the car. Come back. |

Anywhere between the dots is normal. You need to keep it there until you find the leak.
