Suspension setup is the main reason I chose FR-S over the BRZ even though stylistically I liked the front end better on the BRZ. It's also the reason my FR-S is still on stock suspension... like the 2013 noticeably stiffer rear ratio with more playful nature... can't imagine liking the more neutral, 'buttoned down' tuning better. Thinking I will be going Bilstein B6 dampers with TRD springs - because it's about time for new dampers and would like a slight drop while keeping same stock like nature/balance of the car...

i'm not even fully convinced that i want anything newer than '14, despite the information that '20 will be the last/best model year for this version. i don't want the dash screen of all of it.

How ironic would it be, if the next gen is looking like a turd, to have a late rush on the final MY of gen 1? It’s usually the opposite problem, when a new gen model is coming, especially for a sportscar, sales of the existing model decline hard because everyone is holding out for the new one, the latest and greatest, and no-one wants to buy the model about to be superseded. Bizarre to think that in 2021-22 buyers might actually be seeking out the last of gen I instead of a gen II.

I wonder if they will market Gen2 as heavily as they have the first gen. The only ads I hear for a Toyota in Portland are for the Celica.

If the rumored bloat - with the same power - is true, I have to ask the marketers: what buying segment and competitor's cars are you going after? Can't be the Miata/Twins 'real' sportscar crowd. The 4 Cyl. Mustang? The Z? The wives of the current Miata/Twins buyers? Who are you targeting to make you think you'll sell more cars? Do you think some Soccer Mom will buy one instead of Her Massive SUV Keeps That Her Precious Baby Safe From All Crashes (the original SUV marketing results)?
