My wife and I went and walked the Indian creek in downtown Caldwell. It is very impressive. Super good light display, plus the skating rink in the Indian creek plaza is very cool. It is really great for a small town. Better than San Jose, and no gangs and muggings, and easy parking. I love it.

I need to download something 2GB from nvidia site, but it says it would take 4-5 days to finish.. I thought there is a problem with our network, checked, nothing unusual. I've asked a guy who deals with our internet access, he said there is a global issue related to Google. Do you have any issues?

I have 3 to burn before the end of the year. I don’t see it happening. Getting sick of getting up at 3:30 to drive 20 miles and preheat the oven for the guys coming in at 6am. Need to look into a new programmable PLC.

Who wears gloves at 28? That is the point where I may zip my hoodie up if I am going to be out for a while.

In 2020 I get my last PTO bump at my current employer, I'll be at 7 weeks. At my level there is no roll-over so I have to use it or lose it all. I'm probably one of the few upper level team that does use it. 6 weeks are already planned out and on the schedule, the other week is held in reserve for "emergencies" then I add it to my schedule starting the second half of the year usually taking the last 3 days right around my anniversary date (the use it or lose it date).

I don't have to use PTO for sick time at my level, I can go straight to using extended sick leave on day 1 of an illness for myself or a family member, so really all my PTO is vacation/holiday time. The trade-off is the use it or lose it on the PTO time each year. Those with rollover have to use PTO for sick leave up to 4 consecutive business days before converting to extended illness leave.

I only get two weeks, they were making it 3 for people over 10 years but I have to do another year to get that since I quit just shy of 10 years. |

I was just able to download 500 mb in about 10 seconds, so certainly not global. If a speed test checks out (also implying no cap from IT) then there is likely a bottleneck in the CDN, possibly related to downloads from Turkey, and not a whole lot you can do aside from trying tor or a VPN to change your locale. With a 4 day download, it would still be faster, although that would probably make your IT department grumpy. Alternatively if you have a laptop you could try the download from home, but if there is a cap from the CDN for the region, that wouldn't make much of a difference. |

We would definitely notice it as a lot of our services are cloud based so our Internet traffic is relatively heavy and users complain if there is the least little drop in speed (we're talking a second or less difference between page loads, they notice)
