Ya, I was going to keep it to put-put around the Old Soldiers Home in my later years. However, the way I'm going, I'm going to need something with 4 wheels -

I suggest you retain a good real estate broker and let him/her do the hunting.

Get a pre-approval letter from a lender, give a copy to the broker, along with your criteria and ask him/her to give you a call when the find the right one.

See, it can be easy.

There is no such thing as the perfect house, unless you have it built.

I suggest you keep a lifeboat list of houses - one, two and three. Never more than three at a time. Then, when you tire of looking, pick number one.

See, it's still easy.

Built can be worse when you discover things you hate... And if its too custom, no one else wants.

Never build your first house if you're doing so to try to make it perfect. Unless you've studied as an architect. Or pay $$$$ for a good one.

We bought a less than ideal kitchen. And, as it turns out, lacking storage space. Still haven't fixed the kitchen, but keep thinking we will any day now. Not cheap. When did we move beyond single rooms? That's the curse I think.

Good agent worth it though.

so much easier said than done. the 3 major qualifications that decided the current house for me was the size of the garage(many listings don't show much with the garage. then there was the 'well kept but old' motif throughout the house(kept a lot of people away because it needs updating, but they maintained what they had very well) that never showed up in pictures, and finally, the basement walls are poured concrete, where the majority of houses of that era in my area are all cinder block. again, something that will almost never show up on a listing report.

when did down hill become so acrobatic? i remember as a kid watching it and it was mostly just guy's plummeting down the side of a mountain, the guy who hit the bottom the fastest without dying won.

The wife and I took a drive up to Lake Cascade yesterday for lunch. Beautiful fun twisty drive up the Payette river. Just a beautiful fall day.
