Well, that's nice, however the OP expressed his fuel consumption in "km/litre".
"I'm getting 8.8 km/litre combined which seems absurd. Everyone I've spoken to IRL gets at least 11-12km/litre. In that case, the proper conversion would be: 8.8 kilometers per liter would = 20 some miles per gallon (US) (don't make me bring ol @Ultramaroon or @Tcoat in to straighten you out - ) humfrz |

It's like saying "you only live once" , or "nothing happened". Those are fairly absolute statements, no wiggle room/ fixated vision. Well, you don't only live once. You live a new day, each day, 365 days per year. You only die once = that is a fact. One of the better memories I have of my FR-S, was the day I took delivery. It was OE, bone stock, unmolested , then I drove home 340 miles mostly in the dark in 260 minutes, and my front headlights weren't at the right angle (needed to get them readjusted later)

Hum hasn't been called a "young" man since sometime around the Renaissance.

The gauge does not read liters per kilometer and converting the displayed number to MPG is wrong be it imperial or US gallons. I will admit when I first read the Aussie document I couldn't understand why they were squaring the KMs!

So, the OP reports his fuel consumption as "8.8 km/litre". The question is how many miles per US gallon is that? humfrz |

And his friends that say they are getting "better" at 11 would be about 25. The measurement is wrong though. If you use the liters per 100 kilometers that the car is actually showing he is really getting about 26MPG and his friends with 11 are getting 21MPG. That is unless he has taken the L/100K reading from the dash and converted it to K/L for some bizarre reason.
