You might have gotten lucky without frame damage, doesn't mean he will too. A good bit more off centered and the energy transferred is now more on one side than the other, and that bit of energy could be enough to compromise the frame. |

I agree with spagti on this one. Granted Opie and I only been through 6 or 7 of these salvage ones now, but two have been worse than the OPs car and zero have had any frame damage. At most the ends of the front rail may be slightly tweaked which is why I suggested have the OP get it checked to be sure, but these cars don't really tend to have damage to the rails because the crash beam is designed to bent and break instead. Those that I've seen at auction that have had damage to the rails have been significantly worse than the OPs car.

I can see left front apron damage in the pic, that is unibody damage. A fender will not buckle that bad on a unibody car without there being apron damage that requires a frame machine to fix. I would put money on the lower rail being damaged as well and swayed over.

We just fixed this one: Zero unibody/frame rail issues. Measured out perfectly.

This fender is way less buckled than the one in this thread, plus there’s pics of apron damage, I run a body shop the car has unibody damage.

The apron ends at the strut tower and it looks fine in these pictures. In front of that is just core support pieces that are super easy and cheap to replace. It just looks like the fender peeled up and buckled. There's even an extra bracket that holds the fender to the apron that will fail before the apron. If there's damage to the apron it's negligible IMO. |
