I came here to say some things, then @Tcoat said pretty much all of them. On point as always, sir. Especially the bit about German engineers being difficult to work with, though in my case it was more German businessfolks/practices. That's one of the things I don't miss about the old job. haha
One thing I will add, in reference to FA more specifically. And I will first make the disclaimer that I'm far from even moderately equipped to assess a damper's quality. Fortune Auto seems to have done an excellent job of marketing, as others have pointed out, and getting brand ambassadors out there repping them in various communities. Around here they are huge in the Subaru community, I think largely due to one well loved rep in the local community being a big fan of them. But I also see that they are doing a lot to support the track community in a big way, with contingency programs and event/series sponsorship. This goes a LONG way, especially when you aren't seeing a lot of the other suspension companies out there. Also, having localized support is a big deal too. It's on the reasons Reinharte suspension will be on my radar when I eventually get coilovers... again. lol

I dealt with the engineers on occasion, but definitely not as much as the business folks. Now I'm in tech, which has its own challenges/difficult people. But at least half the people I have to work with don't all simultaneously go on vacation for an entire month. haha

Now if only there was that much part support for the BMW i3 or Chevy Bolt. I love the idea of an electric commuter (and of course a dinosaur burning toy for the weekend), but the reasonably priced ones are so... spongey and tall and eggshaped. Counting down the years until we get a cool eV mod scene... I just hope everyone dresses like bladerunner. |

You can't convince me fortune cookie auto is a good brand. I'm too brain washed. I been modifying cars since 2002. My s14 was mostly made up of Japanese parts. I've been applying the same method for 20 years |
