I changed the diff for a few reasons. The original 4.30 gear would have been too low a gear for the engine and tire size. I want first, second and third gear to actually be useful. 3.55 should put me right where I want to be. The axles for sure would have needed an upgrade as well as the wheel hubs And I have broken a few differentials in other cars, being stuck somewhere with a broken diff sucks...hoping I bought some peace of mind. So the full blown kit addressed all of thos reasons for me. Gearing and strength in a bolt in kit...we’ll see how it holds up...it better! |

Is this also a limited slip Torsen differential?

When you order the kit, you can select what ever kind of differential unit you want. I chose a Detroit TrueTrac, which is a Torsen style similar to the factory unit (parallel axis gears) It’s a more simple design without any clutches or other components to wear out, also very strong. I’ve used these in the past and I like how they feel.
There are a few different types of torsen style differentials. https://torsen.com/how-it-works/ Last edited by ILLSMOQ; 05-13-2018 at 11:34 AM. |

Couple LS swaps running today, Awesome!
Pure Automotive is at the top of the game with their motec plug and play kit. The car is running, I can’t wait to see what can be done from here with this hardware/software. Vorshlags supporting LS swap hardware is awesome as well. Really happy with how this build has turned out so far. After some minor tweaking Needs a full on tune...More to come. |

Hey @ILLSMOQ how much of the OEM wire harness does the pure auto harness replace? Do you keep the loom that goes through the firewall on the driver side behind brake booster? Thanks!

What ever is behind the brake booster wasn’t affected. I didn’t have to do anything with the brake booster. I ran the wire loom through the same hole the factory loom passes through behind the battery. The pure harness plugs into the three plugs for the factory ecu. Then gets run out to the engine compartment and plugs into all the LS components. And then power from the batt and ground. I actually used the factory alternator, power and ground cables too. Revers lights still gets connected to the original Brz reverse lights wiring., I cut the wiring and connector off the original Brz reverse lights switch and soldered in the t56 switch. The harness didn’t provide a solution for the reverse locknout solinoid, so I picked up a reverse lock out module from American Powertrain so I can shift to reverse easily. And mounted it under the center council. http://americanpowertrain.com/i-2388...e-6-speed.html |

Believe me I want to! But I’m not gonna jack my brand new engine by running it on a bad tune..Getting it tuned on the 19th...until then it sits and I can tie up all the little loose ends. I’ve waited a long time to get it to this point...couple more weeks isn’t a big deal lol
