Still prefer the 86 platform. It's a 3 seater in a pinch and I don't have to play Tetris packing golf clubs or groceries. And the lack of body roll is a plus.
Maybe down the line when I can afford to keep 2 cars. |

To be perfectly honest I really enjoy my 1991 British Racing Green one that my Grandfather sold me the most (its been in the family the whole time). Those MazdaSpeed Miatas could be fun, but they didn't feel like Miatas when tuned (the powerband was really bad). In my opinion, its hard to have a super light weight Turbo powered car that feels "right". I kinda think a Supercharger is the way to go (I have owned 2 AW-11 MR2 that were S/C). Also the Lotus Exige just felt like it had a bigger motor. Anyway, TLR version, the MazdaSpeed Miatas were good on paper, but not great to drive (or at least didn't "feel" like a Miata) |

Why not go down this type of route?
https://www.flyinmiata.com/articles/ Or http://www.bbrgti.com/road-tests/ Since owning my BRZ I have started to understand the 'modding Japanese cars' thing.. Last edited by JD001; 03-03-2018 at 10:35 AM. |

Stock for stock straight line none of them are impressive. The MSM is the only model that doesn't take a ton of money to make any gains though. I know the 17x7s were a big jump for most miata fans, but they weren't giant by any means. |

When the ND was first released, I remember reading an interview with a Mazda exec who said that 155 hp was a necessity. To get more peak HP from their 2.0L NA engine, they'd have to sacrifice low/midrange torque which they weren't willing to do.
I wonder if Mazda's hand has now been forced because of lower-than-expected sales? Or have they found a way to increase peak HP without sacrificing the low/midrange?

Sounds like you made the grave mistake of leaving the top up whilst you drove The top is just for keeping the rain and bugs out when parking.

You're thinking of STI as a lousy Impreza trim from Fuji Heavy.
tS is made by STI. https://www.sti.jp/completecar/herit...l/2013/brz-ts/ https://www.sti.jp/completecar/herit...l/2015/brz-ts/ 1:04 [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_eUT4HyIi4"]Tokyo Auto Salon 2011--Subaru WRX STI tS and Nurburgring Race Car -- STI Hideharu Tatsumi Interview - YouTube[/ame] |
