I hadn't thought about the difference in width. With the MCS I also went from an OEM runflat to an Azenis which was a lot of the weight savings.

It's nice to hear that 255 star spec's don't rub. I would like to see some clearance pics and/or measurements if you have time.

This is the exact combo I have been debating on getting (except silver.)

I'll take them with me to the autocross Sunday. I'll report back afterwords on whether or not they rub during track use with the stock suspension and alignment. But yeah, no rubbing for street use.

Excellent. You have a custom alignment as well?

Stock alignment, no changes. I'll be going to KWs sometime in the near future, so I'll fool with all of that at the same time.

True that!

We've had a lot of rain lately. Grabbed this picture when it let up for a minute. Still lots of open space in the wheel well, but it's even top to side, so it looks balanced. Can't wait to get some KWs.

I guessed you planned autocrossing with this set-up. I wonder if wider tires are always better in AutoX. Wider tires takes longer time to heat up and they are heavier. I have been autocrossing myself a few times my self, but never with different tires on the same car.

Any more photos of it after the suspension settled? Gold RPF1 is one of the wheels I'm looking at (just looking) for my white BRZ.

I daily drive star specs on my M3 and BRZ. They hold up pretty well for how sticky they are.

Fun runs got cancelled due to incoming foul weather, so Inever got to try them out on course. Wider isn't always better, but I just wanted to see what would happen. The tire would probably be better on a slightly wider wheel. I'll probably do 245/40 after these are spent. The weight was offset by the lighter wheels, so I'm not much worse than stock.

Very nice! 255s might be a little too big for 8 inch though. I'd give 245s a try.

I've got an autocross this weekend where I'll explore what tire pressures are needed to make them work. If I can't come to a happy resolution, I'll scale things down for the next tire purchase. Until then, I'm holding out for an advantage to be explained with complicated tire pressure and spring rate arguments later!
