Ha! In the automotive trades extractors are being used more and more. I've used this for numerous engine, transmission, differential, brake fluid, and power steering removals with great success.

(be sure to clean between applications...)

But you know what? There is nothing like draining every last bit from the drain plug.

Ahhhh....... Portlandia ...... suck stuff out.........

And ..... wouldn't that have to be a pain to have to flush the sucker out after each use .. ??

And .... if the manufacture wanted oil to be sucked out of the sump ...... they would have put in a tube that reached all the way to the bottom.

And ....what about the "sludgie" stuff in the very bottom of the sump, wouldn't that just accumulate in time .. ??

And ...... when the magnetic drain plug gets all "filled up" with metal particles, it wouldn't be able to hold any more and stuff would just be circulated in the oiling system .... ??

And ...... how would you know you got all the old oil out ... ??

And ...... gravity is free ...... sucker machines cost money.

Ok, to be fair this is not an apples to apples comparison. I have no idea how the FRS oil pan is shaped, and if there is still oil left in the pan after a conventional oil change. I would assume that if the front of the car is elevated, i.e. ramps or a jack, all the oil should come out; but what about when it's level, i.e., on a lift.

I have never heard of a dealership using a vacuum to suck oil out.. If the vehicle was supposed to be vacuumed out, why do they come with drainplugs from factory?

I've only heard of Walmart using vacuums.

Yum, love me some or somethings.

But yeah, love my Fumoto drain valve even more. But I do see the benefit of sucking the oil out if you don't have a jack/jack stands.
