To clarify, PMok is not using the Factory Tuned JR CARB calibration.
To further one of @CounterSpace Garage's points - A melted catalytic converter is caused from excessive heat, which is typically tune based. Our calibration is designed to work with the factory catalytic converters and to keep cat temperatures in check. So we rarely see this. In fact, my personal car, which I track, has the original catalytic converters still in place. -Oscar Jr. |

Why do so many of the hp curves drop off so steeply after like 6500-7000? Even the carb dyno delicious has on their website stops at 7000. I'm really considering one of these kits with the carb tune but I'm having a hard time finding third party dyno's with the carb tune.

Rarely does an engine continue to make power past its power peak, and most will fall of steeply after a while. |

Could you be a little more specific? You mentioned in another thread that you were confident drift office could tune a car not to drop off like that so does that mean it's because of the tune?
I know there has been talk of maxing out the maf at high rpm so if someone is trying to tune based off just the maf they will basically be flying blind for the last bit of the rpm range? |

Correct, the MAF would be maxed out. |

Ultimately, this is a question for your chosen tuner, as i can't speak on their behalf. |

I went with it due to how well it integrates with the JRSC kit. Which was the selling point for me. So far tracking it i have not had any high ambient temps but I have not had oil temps over 240 Last edited by zypher; 03-19-2017 at 08:09 PM. Reason: spelling |

Where are you taking it to get installed? Of course, assuming you're not doing it yourself. Aside from Dyno Comp and Goodspeed, I don't know what my options are in the valley.

I'll be doing it myself. But if I had to go to a shop here I would probably do Snail Perofrmance or Forced Air Tech. I havent been to FAT in ages though so I'm not sure who's still there. Goodspeed quoted me ridiculous prices when I had my GTI so I haven't bothered talking to them. No experience with Dyno Comp though! Lemme know if you have any specific questions on the install or anything. Glad to help!

Anyone have any experience with some of the aftermarket oil pans? Such as Moroso Baffle or the FBM Aluminum Cast Oil Pan?
