I have a friend where in the last storm, some roof shingles flew off and hit and dragged across his car. Scratched it up pretty bad.

Ya, anybody who's met you in person knows that

Did an impromptu session with our resident photog @Pwolf at T-Hill over the weekend while visiting the 86cup folks. Thanks for making my filthy car look good!

I didn't change anything or edit any posts!

Cool pic, did you put bumper plugs on the front?

The part that confused me in the repair mode instructions was to unplug the battery. Figured out they probably meant remove the battery from the car after fully charging it to use the repair mode.

I'll probably forgo repair mode and just charge it up once a week.

Thanks for the info.
To go slightly more in depth, do you have a clamp-style meter? Just like a battery tester but has built-in clamp to touch the wires. With it, you can measure the drop on each line individually. You can unplug just that wire from whichever terminal it's connected to.

FWIW, that's what my FRS is doing. The small (-) wire is removed from the negative terminal after testing it's dropping more than usual, more drops than the other wires. After weeks/months, I reattach that wire, car starts up fine. All radio memory stays. No charging, no battery removal. My clock needs resetting tho

The new battery was cheaper than the plausible quotes to really dig in and take it apart. A kill switch was the next cheap solution, but again, unplugging it is working like a charm.

Saw the sales rep today to deal with financing paperwork and he's thinking my car will arrive a week early since that's how shipments have been lately.

If so, that puts me about a week and a half out from pickup

Thanks guys for putting up with my random questions up to this point! I think about a year now.. o_O

Can't wait to join you guys on a drive once I get used to driving it.

I unfortunately don't have any battery testers.

I'd hate to unplug and replug the battery every week or two when I go to drive the car

No, the dealer drilled it out after I explicitly told them not to. This was their fix

I was rooting for the Civic! Looks like he could've had him too, if it wasn't for the fact that he was slower on the straights. Oh also that Yaris almost wrecked him.

I've always liked that year Civic hatchback, it's also one of the cars I learned to drive stick in!

Lol, I was rooting for the Civic too! It's a very weird feeling thinking of the 86 as the one with "straight line speed" and not the under dog lol. I actually almost bought a similar civic back in highschool since Civic hatchbacks were the thing back then but ended up with my Datsun 510 BECAUSE POOR MAN'S RWD WAGON!
